  1. Oldham could be nearer to three digits, home against Cornwall on Sunday! Hopefully, our key absentees are returning soon and a settled squad to meet the usual schedule...reminder - After our Newcastle home game, it's Crusaders away to prepare for home games versus Keighley, Cornwall and Workington, before 5 away fixtures until we return 21 July! Our last game is Keighley - at the Crown.
  2. Anyone braved the awful conditions to give witness to our ‘performance’? A Workington supporter said we were terrible!
  3. Excellent win for you. Deja vu all over again for our ex Coach Alan Kilshaw, after Hornets’ 2016 Promotion Final victory in Toulouse. I guess he was as ecstatic yesterday as then. Not sure the opponents were! Good fortune for the season - hopefully we shall join you there sometime soon!
  4. How is it up there this morning? BBC forecast is showing you mid 50’s mph currently and most of the day; tomorrow 57mph to wake you up and early 50’s most of the day. Rochdale mid 40’s mph tomorrow until mid afternoon. It will not be fun for walkers and drivers. If the game is played, you may soon run out of balls, so to speak! I am too far away (slight wind and sun!), even from Rochdale. Keep safe folks.
  5. The weather forecast this weekend, especially for Workington with 40mph winds today and 50mph+ over the weekend plus some rain. Affecting Rochdale too! Keep safe and the powder dry!
  6. Forecasts showing that Rochdale will be affected by very strong winds over this weekend. Our opponents in Workington on Sunday are particularly affected from today, through Saturday and all of Sunday with up to 55mph winds and some rain. Time to batten down the hatches. Take care.
  7. https://t.co/YfVw2f6xEf A link to the two loanees from Salford and Widnes and some positive news about several of our injured players.
  8. It looked so innocuous…..around 43mins….. good luck to a quick recovery. https://www.youtube.com/live/29doCtZJyng?si=n3eUu65QIzx97Ksh
  9. What a huge blow for Else, team and coach - have to hope that Ridyard and McNally are on the mend…any news? Obtaining such key, experienced and good players, presumably for a reasonable period, cannot be easy at this time (perhaps the neighbours will be kind!?). Bradford, anyone? Good luck to all.
  10. A few more points first half for Hornets may have helped, but Oldham had too much experience and power to overcome an encouraging Hornets performance, particularly 1st half. Losing Else early in the game was a huge blow, especially without Ridyard and McNally. Hopefully this crucial trio will be available soon….? Hopefully too, a similar attendance (2000+) for the return game. Personally, I missed Hornets in our traditional red, white and blue strip, particularly with few such colours evident on screen in the stand.
  11. Rochdale Comic Con returns to Rochdale football this morning - no indication yet that Hornets will copy; meanwhile we visit Oldham tomorrow! https://www.redcapeevents.co.uk/ For
  12. Hope that we shall have a good turn out at Oldham in front of the cameras. Tonight Hunslet lost at home 14-42 to Keighley and Oldham will not wish to fall behind them. 14. From the statement on the AFC forum: “To allow us the necessary time, we are making sufficient funds available to the Club to enable it to operate for the next 30 days. By the expiry of that period, we plan to have completed our diligence and formulated and presented our offer such that, assuming it is acceptable to the Club, we can conclude an investment before the end of the season. We will use this period to actively engage with all stakeholders, including the town’s political figures, creditors and sponsors to ensure they are prepared to play their part in ensuring the survival of the club. This period will also be used to formulate our future plans for both First Team and Academy operations. At this stage, we would like to set out the broad principles which will underpin our offer: Our sole short-term motivation is to ensure that the Club survives its current financial crisis and remains a going concern and a community asset with the interests of the community at heart; In the medium-term, our ambition is to assist the Club to become financially sustainable regardless of football success. We do not believe there is a silver bullet solution, but we hope our investment will give the Club the time (and resource) needed to properly explore the available options and then execute them as efficiently as possible; Our offer is not financially motivated. The shares we would acquire will be held in trust for the benefit of the Rochdale AFC Community Trust and our decisions will be made solely in the best interests of the Club and the community; We fully support the conclusions of the Fan Led Review – particularly in so far as they relate to governance and supporter engagement – and our offer will be consistent with their recommendations.”
  15. Hopefully, Ridyard and McNally will be playing against the neighbours - any news? Their presence would help to give us a good chance to return with a point or two and redress our annoying loss yesterday. Should be a cracker -hopefully some extra white and blue to mix with the red. The match is only one of 4 games on Sunday and good weather, which could mean a bumper crowd.
