Paul March eat your words!

Recommended Posts

Pretty arrogant from March. Nice to see him eat his words.

Love it when a southern team does this against all the odds. 30-20 win very solid as well and an 18 - 0 first half even better.

Keighley Cougars Head Coach Paul March: “It’s going to be emotional once more, that is for sure, but the emotion will get easier every time we play there and the lads overcome the hurdle last time a month ago.

“It’s disappointing for me that we’re facing the Skolars on Saturday, as I feel we need a competitive game to really get the lads going ahead of the Cup final in Blackpool and we’re not getting that playing these southern sides.”

He came across as pretty thick when he was a player, amazed to learn he is a coach and delighted that Skolars stuffed his words down his throat.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

As a Cougar fan. The result does not surprise me.

We are normally awful in the first half. We keep giving teams get a head start. Then catch up.

This time it didn't work.

A lot of fans are losing faith his ability to coach the team.

Well done London.

what do you think about making a statement like that before the game

My experiences tell me much of the traditional areas of the game (especially the supporter base) look down on their southern counterparts. Skolar's win yesterday is a great win to shove March's arrogant words back down his throat. With the likes of McMeeken performing brilliant in SL and the likes of LMS, Sarginson and Dixon holding their own (even representing the national side in Sarginson's case), it is plain to see that these southern lads can play the sport but sadly don't have 121 years of infrastructure behind them. Imagine what they could do with all that history and experience...

Well done Skolars and hope March feels suitably ashamed.

He's pretty much done the Skolars team talk for them

It should be made into a poster for the wall of the Skolars' changing room.

I was never much of a fan of Paul March until the sudden, tragic death of Danny Jones, and I thought he took on a sudden maturity and dealt with that,on behalf of his club, and himself, brilliantly.( He is still only a relatively young man, himself )

I do not know what team he selected for the game yesterday.Did he play a lot of youngsters?

Whatever his perceived personality, his enthusiasm for the sport cannot be denied.

I don't know who he made the above comments to - but I doubt it was meant to be learned about down south - and they may well have been heartfelt,as he does seem more than a little keen to win;both as player and coach.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

he said it in his pre match build up that was printed on the Cougars website. dont think he said it quietly

also he put his best team out, they only just won a few weeks ago in the pro cup semi and scholars had just beaten doncaster and north wales both away so seems a completely stupid thing to say,

glad he did tho
