48 hrs late but great thread.

Do you think his fine will be as big as Bateman's? #wdl

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

what did bateman do?

Don't worry about it, you just concentrate on Powell

He is complaining about the knock on/ offside decision made just before half time when it has been shown that the ref made a correct call. Sort of undermines the rest of his comments whether value or not

Cas are really embarrassing themselve over this whole thing. If Thaler had actually made some wrong calls I'd be a little sympathetic but when he's been proven right it just makes them look unhinged, particularly surprising for Powell.

Powell talks about respect. The number one rule is to respect the ref. Powell should have taken up any issues he had through the proper channels, quietly, in person, not by challenging the RFL in public. He's better coach than that, and Cas deserve better. No point in fining him and making him a martyr. Instead, send him on a course in not being so bloody stupid.

He said what needs saying. But I have said enough on that too and can't be bothered saying anymore!

No it didn't. What he said was rubbish. He's let himself down, he's let the club down and he's let the fans down.

To be fair to Powell if think everyone watching thought it was offside originally. Which is why it was such a good decision by Thaler. So hopefully once he's had chance to see it again he'll apologise.

You support Wigan, a team coached by Shaun Wane yes?

No they're not.

seriously the double standards of some people on this thread are an absolute joy to read

Complaining about much wider issues than a knock on decision including Thalers inappropriate interactions with players.

Thanks for acting as a spokesman for Cas fans although I think most would disagree. Anyhow if current rumours are true he'd have to go some to let his club down as much as the Wigan players may have.

To be honest I'd genuinely rather go watch Hoff the Record than debate the matter with you again (you are honestly that dull) so I will leave this thread here!

You seem to be getting a little obsessed with the matter maybe you should do the same....

Nonsense,

Quick question....

Why was Luke Gale, our captain, not allowed to approach the referee after Bateman had hit Milner in the face and thrown the ball at him?

It's not nonsense if you are gong to complain/ whinge/ make a point ensure that you are correct in everything you say. Powell was wrong about the knock on/ offside which shows either a lack of knowledge (probably) or a lack of preparation/ review (less likely )

There is nothing in the Laws which allows a captain to approach the referee at any time especially if it is done in either an aggressive or confrontational way. A penalty had been given by the ref for the messing around at the PTB and then Bateman tapped Milner in the head which flared things up.

The ref probably (and neither you nor me know exactly) thought I have given my decision let's move on.

Also Gale had been whinging (there is no other word for it) throughout the game and sometimes a ref will think enough is enough

At the time whilst watching the game I didn't think that Thaler was too officious or whatever word you want to use. My criticism would be that he was too tolerant but that applies to all the refs at the moment. There is too much player whinging and trying to referee the game and as a game this needs stopping

Having watched the game again it seems such an odd one to fall into the controversial category, as the ref got pretty much everything right. What was the penalty count? Cas seemed to get their fair share. Even the video ref decisions seemed even, though on another day Sutton's try at the end would have been given...

If he was going to be furious with anyone he should have been furious with an experienced player getting sin binned for complaining about a correct decision.

I suppose Powell may have been generally frustrated because, as a result of losing a game they could have won they are at real risk of becoming by dragged into the middle 8s contest rather than the top 4 one, when they look a top 4 side. Salford get their points back, and it could get congested.

The person who seems to have a problem is Powell who has failed to keep his emotions in check and manage to transmit his perceived issues with Thaler to his players which isn't good coaching and is more the sort of thing you used to see in the old Yorkshire League
