Great win for the boys today and sounded a thriller on Twitter.

Well done Connor for bouncing back from the tackle to score the winner.

Can I have another win for my 21st Birthday next week please ?

Did not think we would win this one as the team seemed lack lustre mid way in 2nd half but credit where credit is due we scraped the win which is great, so puts some more distance between the team below us - difficult match next week at Workington..........but one I hope we can win.

Things looked bright as the Lions went into a deserved 10-0 lead and even at haft time only 2 points behind at 10-12 it all looked set for an optimistic second 40.

Extending their lead to 10-18, Sheffield looked on course for their 3rd success of the season against the gutsy Lions, who then, as also at other times this season, dug deep into their reserves of courage to storm back into game through a Rhodri Lloyd try.

Then, strong running forward Connor Dwyer stormed majestically through to snatch a worthy winning touchdown.

Credit too must go (as it has many times this season) to the ever improving abilities of our kicker Chris Atkin for his 5 out of 5 kicks, 3 conversions and 2 penalties. Although just below Dewsbury (on points difference) we have opened up a small 3 point gap to the next club below.

I for one, am looking forward to the long hike up to Derwent Park next Sunday in the hope that the weather will be a bit kinder than today. However, a word of caution, just because Town currently prop up the rest of the table we must NOT take to the field with a sense of complacency, as this will still be a tough task, even for the gradually improving boys in blue. Quite often matches against 'easy' teams are anything but as I'm sure most of us are fully aware from past experiences.

A great result. Atkin and Lloyd in the backs did well, Fleming at prop was superb assisted by the consistently strong Jordan Hand and a fantastic Rob Lever who played Loose, prop and 2nd row .Too many errors and penalties again which must be a worry for the coach as it doesn't seem to be getting addressed. On to Cumbria next week !

Yes I agree and also think Lloyd defended really well and was impressive with ball in hand. Again from Duffy's reactions throughout the first half and early part of the second half( after which he moved to the dug out)  the team are not executing on the game plan nor being as smart as they could be........so yes they can get better - and I am sure they will.

Not great weather yesterday for Rugby league but a great win for Swinton against a full time club. Atkins kicks were important and successful! Lloyd two tries excellent. Robinson making yards, Dan flaming, Jordan hand worked hard, Rob Lever once again defensively just awesome whilst playing in three different positions yesterday. Let's keep improving and fight to the very end!
