Hodor

I was more upset by that than a man of my age should rightly be.

So far (touch wood here) this season has really been on fire.

it really has. It feels like all the sides I was rooting for from series one are starting to get their together. Outstanding series so far following a terrible last series.

The return of the *****!!!!

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

I loved it, was a good episode for fan rewarding which is rare.

Found it ironic how on "inside the episode" Kit Harington, D&D said they wanted Jon pummelling Ramsay to shock the audience as if Jon was part monster. Ironically everyone I've spoken to about it have said the opposite that they were cheering him on in his brutal vengeance.

Perhaps we're just desensitised to the violence lol

You would say that given your avatar, you Stark lover you!

This season has been brilliant though. It's just a pity it's going to end soon. Latest from the states is there will only be 13 more episodes split over 2 short series.

Personally I hope John Snow and Danearys are the last 2 standing who then join to wipe out the whitewalkers.

Series six has definately been far better after the disappointing series five.  The last season was, I think, poor as the sprawling nature of the plot has become too much to handle during series four.

That said, the last two series have had one thing in common.  When someone does something pointless, unexpected or out of character, it had been the case that you could wonder about their motive or the apparent reliability of what you were told.  Now, you can assume it is to move the plot along.

You do realise the Lord of the rings film was based on the book that Tolkien wrote in the 50's about 20 years before dungeons & dragons was even created.

So not quite sure how you think it was aimed at the fanbase of something that didn't exist.

Nice to see your logic as confused on this subject as it is on the EU

Outstanding episode and generaĺly a brilliabt series this one after a truly terrible season 5.

My issue now is the same as I always have with this show, the young lad's story seems to have been forgotten again. Is Dragon woman going to make real progress yowards Kings Landing now are will we go back to square 1 again like they do every year? Are the Lanisters going to take control again as it has been building towards? Where is The Hound going to fit in now he has returned, same with the young lass? We only have 1 hour left so Ill definitely be disappointed next week!

By the way i am terrible with names!

I'm with you on this one, Dave.  The show - while a stunning watch - just takes an age to get anywhere.  Even the battle last night, that had been mooted for 6 or 7 weeks, maybe more.  Sure, it's good once it gets going, but they sure know how to drag a storyline out

I'm sure next week's episode will leave us with another 150 questions, to keep people salivating between now and the next series

You wouldn't have guessed would you, looking out for northerners in all aspects of life!

I think one of the reasons the show has felt a bit slow is two-fold.

First, there has been so many different storys/character arcs that have been (up to this season) going further away from eachother, resulting in a Five minute mini episode on each character if you like in each episode. It is for this reason that the show has also streamlined and changed storylines, for example Sansa would have done nothing for the past two seasons had the show not changed from the books. Now the storys and characters (Jon, Sansa, Littlefinger, Brienne as well as Dany, Tyrion, Theon and others) are coming together with the exception of Sam. Even Arya is coming back.

I think it will be interesting at the end to compose a collection for each character with on their scenes as individual stories.

Secondly, last season felt like the show was on pause. The only reason I can think for this is because they were wanting to give GRRM the chance to finish the next book before the next season. The problem being that major things which are going to and have happened this season such as Jon Snow coming back will no longer be shocks to book readers, even Stannis losing hasn't happened in the books yet. Yes the books will probably do things slightly differently but the basic premise that Jon Snow is not dead cannot now be removed and that is down to GRRM not writing rather than the show going too fast. Also season 4 was very hard to follow, probably the best complete season so far (not counting S6).

It's why books are so difficult to turn into TV or movies.  You can have a series of books that cover that many story arcs and still cover them all with the only limit being really how many pages you can fit in a binding.  10 episodes just aren't enough to give each bit of the story the time they need but if they did go more then it'd just confuse people even more.

just scrap some of the nonsense. North v South with the bonus of Dragon lady. Sorted.

Nah, i love some of the different worlds but some of your favourite characters may get 20 minutes air time in the whole series which is just so unusual. It adds to the addictive quality of the show though.

I never thought I would be a fan of this type of thing.
