Match Thread. Featherstone Rovers v Workington Sunday 3rd July 2016

Game on Sunday. Not point calling it a must win cos that's obvious. I think we have no other option that to win all four remaining games, and this is the only one not a direct rival for the Top 4. My own feeling is Top 4's gone, but we must keep trying.

You'd imagine changes after last Friday's performance. Lets see. Perhaps Craven and Hardman are fit again. Maybe Luke Cooper gets a go? Is Lilley available from Leeds? I assume Channing is out again?

The 19 announced tomorrow.

My Grandad Frank Hemingway is on the front cover Mark.

He leaves a great legacy behind, I write on Fev games for League Express, our Frank was commercial manager a couple of times after playing for Huddersfield. Our Ian finished his career with Rovers after playing at Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield. Our sadly departed Alan played for Bradford and left behind two daughters who are avid Rovers fans, Sarah Slater and Gemma Scothern. Frank Slater's son Lee is also a keen Fev fan, while of the next generation Joe Crabtree, a media student at Salford University, is one of our commentators on the Rovers DVD whenever he's not elsewhere working as a freelance journalist.

Grandad took us all down to the Fev u'17's when we were old enough and there was always a Slater in the junior set up from 1967 right through to the end of the 70's. Ian, Alan and Frank all played professionally but recurring shoulder injuries scuppered my chances.

Did any of you old un's ever see him play?

Great stuff Steve. I think Ron Bailey has written the article for Sunday's prog. Here's a bit I wrote years back......

How can we rally round when we don't know what the position is? If the club would clarify where we are financially we could perhaps rally to a call for help or contribution, We are completely in the dark regarding the winding up position and if the staff and players are happy with the present situation.

Not on The RFL site here: http://www.rugby-league.com/match_preview/12177

Which I thought was the official list....

I'd spotted only 18 on there, before the Rovers site posted the squad. One of em is probably right. ;)

yep a crowd of 531 at Sheffield which is what fev will be getting if they continue with shocking lazy performances and there is more chance of me winning the lottery than fev getting top 4 however I first said it when Bastian was coach that there is something seriously wrong at fev and I stick by it and I do not mean the players I also stick by my previous comments of using dual reg players it is destroying the team spirit the only other plausable excuse for shocking performances is money matters.

Tel is suggesting he does know the problem Colin....

I'm not in a position to say tel is right or wrong. Tel made his comments. I asked him what his solution is to the problems he states

Missed today it was our great grand daughter's christening. How come we let in 18 points near the end. Did we think it was all over, did we tire, or was there a lack of enthusiasm.
