  1. It is certainly close but I guess because the defender is approaching from the side and not in front of him then it is not obvious enough to give. I think we would only ever see this penalised if a player jumped over a defender directly in front of him. As for the try. Superd. I am not sure it is the best ever, as has been mentioned in Australia, but it was special.
  2. He is a quality player and very exciting to watch. But he is in his 4th season now and last year he had far and away the most errors in the NRL. The very best players do the good stuff and not the negative stuff. And I am not talking about errors where he is trying something in attack, I mean like where he made a mess of a dummy half pass 3 yards from his own line on the first tackle. I think the errors need to be cut out of his game for him to step up a level.
  3. Reece Walsh has got some poor errors in him though. The type of errors Mitchell would be slated for if he came up with them.
  4. But you can't be awarded a penalty try if you are not prevented from scoring a try. This feels like a comedy sketch.
  5. The literal definition of a penalty try is preventing a try scoring opportunity with foul play.
  6. That's the beauty of time zones. They played tomorrow's game yesterday.
  7. Does my head. No reason to have a scrum there when Salford picked it up clean.
  8. Nofoaluma showing its not always easy for NRL players to step up to Super League.
  9. I was watching the Salford Wigan game and thought Sky have not given out any scores so maybe they are listening. Then I remembered it was Thursday.
  10. I always enjoy watching Salford, they are a really well coached team and move the ball quickly ar speed.
  11. I was watching the game this morning (spoiler alert johnny!) and Souths had made a break and Mitchell was too knackered to get to first receiver and so the second row had to step in. I maintain that Latrell Mitchell is the best talent of his generation, he can do anything. But he is never fit enough and that is the fault of both him and his coaches. It's difficult to say that a player who has played State of Origin and won World Cups has wasted his talent, but I think he has. He could have been an all time great.
  12. I'm currently about half way through the 1986 Winfield Cup Preliminary final between Canterbury and Balmain on YouTube. If we could hold off mentioning the score until I finish it tomorrow that would be great.
