  1. I think this could be a topic all on its own. Interest in RL is dwindling at a time when it is far more accessible on TV, just not at our level. These forums are just a place where people moan, the fun has gone altogether. Even Piggy's Mate has disappeared!!! (Can't believe I've just written that!!, but it's ok he's not on here any longer.....please don't tell him!)
  2. Unable to attend the game, but watched it on YouTube. Fantastic performance from everyone, Dale was right not to single out one MoM. That will hurt Batley, not just to lose against the Old Enemy, but to perform so badly. Hope we can build on this next week against Widnes!
  3. I think some clubs might not make it to the finish line financially, there is a long way to go, and they are spending quite considerable amounts on wages. People can say what they want about Mark, but he has kept the club afloat and put his hand in his pocket when needed. Not sure some of the other club owners will do the same. This season is going to be difficult for a lot of clubs including ours.
  4. Thank you for the info. It looks like cheap tickets just don't work, and unfortunately we don't make anything out of additional food sales, only drinks at the bar. So we would find it even tougher. After everything Kev and the team has put into the club over the last few seasons its a shame.
  5. Just out of interest, how successful was the pricing at our near neighbours last year? They had a very good season the year before with lots of press coverage and interest from fans, but did that increase home support? And of course revenue/profit? (I'm saying profit with tongue in cheek!)
  6. I think this season, many clubs will find recruitment difficult, as many clubs just don't have the money. This won't just be a Dewsbury problem. Players might need to review their wage demands quite significantly.
  7. You are bang on the money! My comments were really made out of frustration at the few voices who always moan about a lack of ambition at our club, when we, along with many others, rely on the cash others/owners are prepared to put in. With RL in the mess it is, other than mental issues (joke!), I can not understand why Mark or Kevin put their money or time in. Their partners/family must consider it madness! I'm bloody glad they do, even though this season I've not been able to attend, the alternative of no Dewsbury Rams is unthinkable.
  8. I fully agree, no nonsense just what is happening on the field, quite refreshing when compared to Sky.
  9. After last nights defeat to York, there maybe a few over the valley looking for pastures new?
  10. I hope Mark isn't reading these comments, after all he puts his hard earned cash into the club to keep it going! With no future for RL, maybe he might decide to spend it elsewhere, especially as he has no ambition according to some.
  11. A very good question to ask, not sure if anyone else in Mark's family is interested in Dewsbury. As an investment, it's not a good one. However, I was told last night that someone squared up to Mark (a so called fan) at the awards night and gave him some abuse, if this is true his family might not be so keen to get involved! If ever!
  12. Spot on Nick! Mark will have lost a considerable amount of money this season, yet we still hear the "no ambition!" comments on Facebook etc. If anyone has the cash to invest in Dewsbury, I am sure Mark would love to hear from them.
  13. Probably not, especially if he reads some of the comments on here and Facebook!
  14. TBH I didn't know you were a pensioner, I knew PM was close but not you!
