  1. Very surprised to see only 16k for the St George Manly game at WIN Stadium. It holds almost 24k and the ground looked pretty full to me.
  2. London played better than I expected them to today. They lack top level quality (for obvious reasons) but they are well organised and hard working.
  3. I don't really see how someone preferring to live closer to home and family as 'personal problems'. The lifestyle in the south of France sounds very attractive but it is a different culture with a different language. These can be quite isolating factors and I wouldn't blame anyone for placing those factors over the quality of the stadium in their decision making.
  4. They would even have been justified to come on here and say it was the worst game they have ever been to.
  5. Been a good weekend of Easter rugby. I wasn't convinced that removing the Friday and Monday fixtures was the right thing to do but the second fixture (and impacting the following week) was always a bit flat. Very happy with the intensity on show.
  6. That's really surprising... and annoying. In this day and age, how many 20 odd year olds are expected to be in the same job in 12 years. People continue to earn and change careers all the time. But good the badges are seen as a career in its own right.
  7. Interesting the top coach ($1.5 million per year) gets more than the top player ($1.4 million). Although I expect Ponga to earn more than Craig Bellamy when endorsements and sponsorships come into play. Shows that if a top player can transition to a top class coach then the long term earning potential is significant. I wonder what the comparison between top player and top coach is in the UK game.
  8. I don't think he is. He is a couple of years younger than Harry Smith and lost a year to a ruptured achilles. He may not have the variety of kicking that Smith has but he has a stronger running and support game. I think they are both quality halves.
  9. Don't think I have heard a coach or manager in any sport as fair and honest as Matt Peet is in post match interviews.
  10. I thought the final replay from the side (not the video ref replay, the one after) showed pretty clearly he got it down.
  11. Can't argue with Wigan getting two cards. Personally I think the elbow was more deliberate and more dangerous and so I think the colours should have been the other way around.
  12. Lovely try. Clearly got it down on the replays showed after the replays the video ref was trying to use.
