Hello folks,

Looking forward to the game on Sunday should be a cracker. Just a little heads up for any Dewsbury fans travelling, the bar at the ground doesnt open til 2pm, so anyone travelling over is welcome to join us Oldham fans at The Old Fleece,Stalybridge. We are usually in there from 12 pm ish.Its in the town centre near the bus station, not far from the train station either.A 5 minute drive up to the ground or about 20 mins walking up the hill. Its a lovely little pub, good beer, reasonably cheap and the landlady is very rugby friendly. Hope to see a few of your fans in there for a bit of pre match banter. The address is 29 Market St,Stalybridge.SK15 2AL. Safe journey over and hope you will enjoy your day out. All the best, Taff.

No worries Jimbob, i think Daz has said on another thread that the buffet bar at the station is the best for real ale,not 100% sure what real ales if any are on at the Fleece, but for anyone coming in the Fleece there are bacon/sausage butties on free of charge. We just run a couple of footy cards between us fans to cover costs to the landlady. There are no pubs up near the ground btw. Everything is in the town centre. Looking forward to the game,If your on the train and dont fancy walking, (it is a bit of a treck up a fairly big hill),then a taxi is your best option.Wouldnt be very expensive £4 or so probably, maybe less i dont know. Thanks to all for the interest. See you Sunday.

Dog & Partridge, Wagon & Horses and Rising Moon aren't far away. A long time since I visited Staley Vegas!

Rising Moon is down a tight (ish) country lane, ok for cars, not sure about buses/coaches. Hare and Hounds is an art gallery now,and a bit further down towards Mottram the Roe Cross was shut down last time i went past. Your quite right the Wagon and Horses is still open, about the same distance from the ground as the town centre though. There are no pubs now on Mottram road til the Dog and Partridge (which is the nearest pub to the ground) from the town centre, shame really as it would have been proper handy to have the Hounds still open as it was at the entrance to the ground lol.Hope you enjoy the trip to Vegas on Sunday Johnny.

If you're coming on the Train, the buffet bar is your best bet. Lots of real ales and in the same chain as your West Riding Refreshment Rooms (but better!).

'Q', next door, the Fleece just down the road and favoured by the Roughyeds fans and then the White House are all within a couple of hundred yards from the Station.

The Fleece doesn't do real ales, the other two do.

Wetherspoons is at the top of Melbourne St and you can cut across along the canal and through Tescos car park before heading up Acres Lane towards the ground. There are two more Pubs on this route, the Hunters and the Organ.

Just a word of warning though: Celtic's match was called off earlier today though to be fair, their game the day before the London match was also "off" but Oldhams game was on on the sunday.

Does the Station Buffet still do pork pies with black-eyed peas? (It's a while since I was in there.)
