ALLAN FORTH FORMER BARLA BOARD MEMBER PASSES AWAY

The BARLA Board of Management has just been made aware of the sad passing of former BARLA Board Member Allan Forth aged 80yrs.

 

A stalwart of the amateur game in Hull, former amateur referee Allan was a BARLA Life Member as well as serving as Chair and Vice President of the Hull & District Youth League, Vice Chair of the Hull & District Open Age League. He was always there volunteering to the jobs others didn’t do committing many untold hours to the game.

 

On Monday 29th April Allan died peacefully in his sleep in a local nursing home in Hull, where he had been for the last twelve months suffering from dementia. During that time he sadly lost his wife and daughter.

 

BARLA Chair Spen Allison said,

 

“I am deeply saddened on hearing the news of the passing of Allan, a stalwart of the amateur game in Hull, who also had strong links with Yorkshire County and I got to know him well over the years. On behalf of the association and myself our thoughts go out to all his family at this time, Allan will be missed.”

 

Allan’s funeral will take place at 10.00am on Friday 10th May at Hull Crematorium
