gingerjon
Is this the same bunch who have claimed to be making "Carry on London" for the last decade or so? Griff9of13
I fully expect the cast to be recruited from the likes of Mrs Brown's Boys, Citizen Khan and My Family. They should fit right in; they do seem to have appeared on our screens via a wormhole back to 1972. C H Calthrop
A) For a start off anyone who refers to a series of films as a franchise should be removed from society immediately and B ) You can't reproduce the chemistry of the original ensemble cast by simply fabricating the new cast from beloved actors. And furthermore C) Talbot Rothwell was absolutely part of that, writing for friends and actors he knew so well. This is set to be hugely depressing. Guaranteed this will not be the sort of film to brighten a wet weekend in 45 years time.

Futtocks
God preserve us from this tripe. Typical RL fan pessimism - even the most lazy, by-the-numbers retread of a 'Carry on' film may well be unwatchable drivel. But it will probably still be twice as good* as the US "dude, look at her bewbs!" comedies churned out every year by the formulaic mouth-breathers behind 'Family Guy' or Andy "I'm worse than Steve Guttenberg" Samberg or Seth or Zach or whatever, where racial and sexual stereotyping from the Seventies are supposed to make you laugh. Oh, apparently it is "post-modern and ironic". So they say. *"good", in this context not actually meaning "good". More like "less suicide-inducing". Just so you know. The only US programmes I watch are re runs of Frasier, and earlier Simpson, I reckon the latest ones are cr a p. Carry On just doesn't make me laugh. If the past ones are full of weak racist, sexist stereotypes and jokes. I stopped laughing at them after Carry on Constable. “Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. Saint Toppy
If made then it will very much depend on the actors they pick. If they use people who are too 'now' like say Jack Whitehall then I doubt the film will last much past the opening weekend. They need to use people with a bit more enduring appeal. My preference would be people like Peter Key, David Walliams and Matt Lucas. St.Helens - The Home of record breaking Rugby Champions
