Wandering pete
After a superb win at Keighley with perhaps the best team performance of the season the focus moves on to the next phase of fixtures. The top 4 placed teams will have 4 home/3 away with teams finishing 5 to 8 ..3 home/4away.Does anybody know how these fixtures are drawn up....is there anything on-line to explain how it's done..??With the final phase 1 fixtures on July 10 th and the phase 2 games only 2 weeks later there is little time for a visiting team/fans to organise a trip to Toulouse
Bearman
Its a mystery to me too. On the travel issue when Toulouse played Wath Brow in the CC earlier this year they had very short notice. The tie clashed with French school holidays and thry could'nt get flights from anywhere in France and they had to bus to Barcelona. It would be just Barrows luck to have to do something similar. Michael Ashton
My own calculation of the top 8 without having details of round 14 fixtures is as follows. 1 Toulouse 2 Rochdale 3 York 4 Doncaster 5 Barrow 6 Keighley 7 Skolars 8 Hunslet If this is correct it seems to me we have home games against Rochdale,Keighley & Skolars and away games against Toulouse,York,Doncaster & Hunslet. I presume the league table is updated by these results.

Wandering pete
Many thanks to Campeze and MAsh for a very helpful analysis of phase 2...perhaps the only thing to add is that the points earned in phase 1 are carried into phase 2 .If..(a very big if) a 5 th place phase 1 finish could be sustained into phase 2 this MAY result in an away fixture at Rochdale with the winners facing either York/Doncaster for the second promotion place..???.....DIscuss!! 750VFR
The 2nd phase starts 22/24 July but will 'we' be at home that weekend for a second home game in July? Surely the dates can be published without knowing the protagonists, so that clubs can plan on the 10th. Wandering pete
No Raiders game today but plenty of interest in Hunslet v North Wales match...if Hunslet fail to win they will surely miss out to Newcastle on top 8 ...a Hunslet win would put them in 7th above Skolars meaning another visit to White Hart Lane for the Raiders.Draw or North Wales win would give Skolars 7th and Newcastle 8 th...so Skolars at home and Newcastle away for the Raiders...?The final phase fixtures likely to be ..home v Keighley/Hunslet/Rochdale...away to Toulouse/Skolars/York/Doncaster...?? All will be much clearer at 16.45!!
Wandering pete
...but with Crusaders 18-4 up at South Leeds stadium and Thunder 18-10 ahead at Pennine Way it could be Skolars at home and Thunder away....
Michael Ashton
My forecast earlier seems to me to be spot on so on this basis we have Rochdale, Keighley and Skolars at home and Toulouse, York, Doncaster and Hunslet away. On our best form I think they are all winnable except maybe Toulouse. When are the matches played.?
Wandering pete
After their win against the Crusaders looks like Hunslet claimed 7 th place ahead of Skolars on 8 th by virtue of better points difference.Wouldn't that mean Hunslet (home ) and Skolars (away)...? morty
correct Pete...so Rochdale, Keighley and Hunslet at home Toulouse, York, Doncaster and Skolars away We have a few scores to settle in some of those games !! Michael Ashton
Absolutely correct Pete. I miscalculated points difference. Apart from Toulouse I don't think any of the matches should cause great problems if we play on top form. I think the dates of super 8 matches will be announced on Wednesday. Wandering pete
The weekend of September 10/11 looks to be the opening weekend of the French Elite 1/2 leagues and although the fixtures aren't available yet (??) there should be the chance to take in a match within striking distance of Toulouse...Albi/Carcassonne/Lezignan...etc...watch this space for possibilities
