Is it that in some areas, NCL clubs are better than pro' clubs at developing players? Of course this is true. Most CC and CC1 clubs no longer bother with anything other than the first 17. Not sure why any club has to be scrapped though.
Or is your point that a semi-pro club shouldn't be launched in Cheltenham?
Just complaining about the amount of RFL funding that goes to the Championship Clubs - when it quite clearly isn't them that's "investing" in the game.
No problem with a semi-pro club being launched in Cheltenham - but why should they be funded by the RFL? What have Cheltenham got exactly (I really don't know, so perhaps someone could let us know). Do they have their own ground? Do they have any money of their own?
If the Championship Clubs didn't receive the funding that they do from the RFL they wouldn't survive - unlike the amateur clubs who have to fend for themselves.
