Player of the Week – Kurt Haggerty (Barrow Raiders)
Second rower Kurt Haggerty scored a hat-trick of tries to help Barrow Raiders to their first win of the Kingstone Press Championship season.
The former Widnes Vikings player has been one of coach Darren Holt’s most consistent performers to date this season, despite Raiders starting with five straight defeats.
He was again influential as Barrow overturned a 0-22 deficit against the Rams.
“Kurt scored three tries for us but his defence was rock solid as well,” Holt said.
“Some of our players really fed off him and that made a big difference for us.”

Performance of the Week – Barrow Raiders
Barrow Raiders looked set to slide to a sixth straight defeat of the season when they trailed Dewsbury 0-22 – only to mount a stirring comeback.
Darren Holt’s side scored six unanswered tries to record their first win of the campaign and climb off the foot of the table.
“It means a lot to get on that first rung of the ladder and get the monkey off our back,” Holt said.
“I’ve been saying this since the first game – we’ve got a young squad and they needed to come out of themselves.
“Before it’s been like they were too shy and scared to impress, but once the forwards started to go forward we saw some real belief. The challenge now is to bottle that up and have it every week.”

Try of the Week – Jimmy Keinhorst (Hunslet Hawks)
Jimmy Keinhorst’s well-worked first try for Hunslet took the Hawks out of reach by establishing an 18-0 lead against Whitehaven just before half time.
Hunslet coach Barry Eaton said: “Mitch Achurch went on an arcing run from inside our own half, drew the full-back and Jimmy showed great enthusiasm with his support play to finish the try.
“Jimmy’s getting better every week and he’s a great kid to work with. He’s combining what he’s doing with us with his commitments at Leeds, and he’s giving himself the best possible chance of having an excellent career.
“His positional play is really good and his support play is fantastic. He probably tops the ‘metres gained’ list most weeks because of his push support.”
