We have three actions a ref can take.
A) Sin binning (10 minutes).
Sending off. (The rest of the game).
C) Putting on report. The judiciary then looks at it and imposes (or not) a ban on player playing for x number of matches.
1) A and B Penalise the offenders team and advantage the team sinned against. A good outcome in my view.
2) C Allows the player to continue and there is no penalty to the team. Not good. But the judiciary can ban the offender for a number of weeks depending on the severity of the offence. Good.
1) Can a player who is sent off be brought before the judiciary? e.g. someone doing a Luis Suarez / Mike Tyson or spear tackles like the 4 Greg Inglis endured in the Sea Eagles v Rabbitohs match yesterday.
If they can there should be no hesitation in sending offs. If they can't then the rules must change as they may inhibit refs using actions A and B.
