  1. If Alex is a 6 has you say why does Jonty not play him No6,Dom is a talented player but should be back playing in the NCLeague.Carter has not been much better, but at least try Alex @7,and see how that fits.Alex when playing for Newcastle was their standout player so we cannot say he is not good enough.I still go back and ask why we let 2 big lads leave our club when we are short of props, but i am not the board and they will likely have some other adjenda to deal with on why they let them leave...UTT have
  2. I absolutely agree on Alex,Full back is a hard position to defend when players are attacking his line.Zarrin is a talented player and although he has been off his game of late i am sure he will come back stronger, you do not get voted the player of the year if you are no good.Alex is not a fullback but if needs be Jonty has no choice but to put Alex in at No1,I hope we can get some more 2nd rowers back in the team,we miss Bradley and Lewthwaite but i am at a misy why we let the two big forwards leave the club, but the board know best on that situation.Jonty needs to tell the players that they are playing for the shirt to earn the money they are paid and also the fans who pay to watch them.
  3. They do not have to play,if a player plays just for the money and not the game i would be very suprised.Players are brought to our game from childhood, they play for the love of the game not for money.I have to conceed though that finances now do come in to play but i also have to say that some players are paid big contracts to play for our club!!,but, and its a big but, that to myself some of our players do not play good enough to justify their fees??,next home game v sheffield is another hard game, but i would like to say that Town will lift their game to win but i doubt it..UTT
  4. I have said that about corkhill from the first game for Town, far to small for a centre and to be honest anything else.We let 2 lads leave the club both big forwards, and to be truthful the 2 overseas lads are no better than some amateurs i have watched this season,Another issue for me is our halfbacks,Carter is a good player but never puts any effort in his game, you see otber halves running and probing looking for the gaps to put his big "RUNNING" forwards into the line, and young wear i am sorry to say is no better than young walker who left to go to Haven.Rant over for me,i do not know what is coming in our remaining fixtures,we maybe beat Haven again.whooppee!!!
  5. I agree DKW,i was referring to the last 2 years and agree the money is better spent elsewhere marra...
  6. But at least they have a screen Unicorn, ours hasnt' worked well for 2 years,so at least they have made the effort to show to the fans...
  7. Wasnt at the game today, sounds like Haven were giving us a good game 1st half.Second half sounds like Town took control of the game, but 2 cumbrian sides who both need a lot of work.UTT
  8. Great result for Town v Keighely, done well especially after the way Keighley played against Haven.Well done lads..
  9. Where has the young boy Leigh came from?he played scrum half but unfortunately for me didn't see the game...
  10. They do not deserve to be called scumbags Spike, give credit to where its due and they turned up to win the game for their club.Well done to all fans who turned up for the game today under atrocious conditions, and to all the players on the field who played today...
  11. I think a lot of us fans are hoping that we can keep hold of Levi Atiga for next season, but surely someone must know Levi's intentions on whether he is staying or leaving us.I would love to see Levi playing in the centres where he played in australia,a powerful man who takes some stopping when in full flow and thats why i would like to know if he is going or staying.
  12. Evan Lawther???
  13. I agree with Bearintown,we need some big heavyweights if we are going to face the big boys from the championship teams....
  14. What is going to happen to Derwent park once the move over to Borough park,I for one is against the move, why could they not just put 2 cantilever stands on both sides of Derwent park and make it just like dewsbury ground. The 3D pitch will be awful for rugby players and also for the footie lads,my recollection of 3D artificial grass is the bounce of the pitch buying my opinion not suitable for both. The capacity is at a guess 2,500 but Derwent park holds a damn site more than that figure. The surface at Derwent park is grass and when Town carried out the resurfacing of the field it is a cracking surface to play any sport on,but I personally would prefer to stay at Town. Now it looks like someone or some people have a interest in Derwent park when it eventually comes to demolition for, I guess new dwellings, will the money go to the council or will it be divided by shareholders?but I would like to know who the major investors are behind this new stadium build, and hopefully the Workington council will receive any money for them personally, to put to good use in our community.
