  1. This might be a revelation to you, but people raised in an environment where they’re told they are rubbish, frequently grow up to feel they are rubbish.
  2. Yes. Plenty of young gay people still self harm because the world they experience on a day to day basis makes them feel horrible and worthless. Kane coming out gives them a story of hope they can relate to.
  3. This thread prompted me to google the soccer World Cup. I had no idea it started so soon. I guess that’s what happens when I have a 24/7 rugby league channel as my go to sports channel.
  4. I was absolutely mesmerised by it. It’s a hefty book with over 1000 pages and I’m a busy person yet i finished it within a week. I even found myself getting up much earlier in the morning so i could squeeze in more reading.
  5. Just finished The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. It’s not the sort of novel I usually read but i really enjoyed the 12th century setting in England and the cast of characters and stories within the novel.
  6. Kayo. I still go the every Raiders home game though plus some matches in the Canberra Raiders Cup.
  7. There are rugby union pathways wherever rugby union is played in the world.
  8. With some of the $ they will unofficially co-opt even more rugby union player development pathways.
  9. $134 for a seat near the dead ball line is outrageous. A similar seat here in Canberra is $45. In Canberra it’s $60 to sit near the halfway point close to the pitch.
  10. Warriors chant started by the singer at a packed stadium concert in NZ.. it’s everywhere these days! https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18ioDZWQQy/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  11. What?! It was the player’s fault. The tackle was horrendous. There’s no NRL conspiracy with the refs to enact flagrant match fixing during one of the most watched TV programs of the year.
  12. Ch9 style commentary for every single game… dear god.
  13. If i remember correctly it was Huawei’s first international sports sponsorship. One of the biggest companies on earth sponsoring the little old Raiders. During that period I used to see Chinese people standing in the players’ tunnel and on the sideline. They looked like Huawei officials and their family members.
