England will play France in the quarter finals on Saturday evening at Wigan following Samoa’s 22-6 victory in Perpignan.

The Samoans will face Fiji in Warrington on Sunday to complete the quarter final line-up.

A superb individual try from fullback Anthony Milford set the Samoans on their way in the second half.

France centre Jean-Philippe Baile went near in the right corner but a Samoan hand dislodged the ball before he could touch down.

Sauaso Sue was placed on report for the second time in the match, this time for a trip on William Barthau.

Pita Godinet extended Samoa’s lead with an unconverted try, Antonio Winterstein had a try ruled out from a Ben Roberts kick because of obstruction before Junior Moors charged over from a Godinet drop-off pass.
