England were always in ¬†command to lead the Irish by 30 points at the interval in front of a capacity crowd at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.

The host nation went ahead in the second minute after an uncomfortable Leroy Cudjoe pass left Ryan Hall with the task of placing the ball down in the corner.

The left three-quarter pairing linked again as Hall grabbed his second on 13 minutes before England’s other wing, Tom Briscoe, scored on the opposite flank.

Briscoe grabbed a second and then Hall completed his hat-trick after good work on the opposite side from Kallum Watkins.

The English scoring was completed by Brett Ferres, going over from a Sam Tomkins pass. Kevin Sinfield kicked three conversions from six attempts
