Huddersfield Giants lose Wood for season

Huddersfield Giants have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of the play-offs, after it was revealed that utility man Kyle Wood will miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Wood has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and boss Paul Anderson said today that he will not be fit to compete until at least the beginning of 2015, meaning his season is over.

Wood had played more consecutive games for the Giants than any other squad member, but his season has cruelly been brought to an end with his long-term injury.
