Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that rising star, stand-off Sam Tomkins, has signed an extended contract with the Club until the end of 2014.

Head Coach Brian Noble commented,

"Sam is a really talented played with a magnificent attitude. I have been really pleased with his form in 2009. If he continues to progress in the manner he has shown so far I am sure he will be a key player for Wigan for many years to come once I have gone."

Richard Ashcrofts view on life in Wigan:
"If you wore patent leather shoes and drank 19 pints of lager, you could have the time of your life."

Farrell could play for "at least another two years" at the top level in union" Mike Ford on Andrew Farrell, God I might take up Union in a few years!!!

I guess Sam has been assured that Noble is moving on then. I can't imagine any young English player wanting to tie themselves to a club long-term with Noble in charge, with his proven track record of always preferring an antipodean over a Brit wherever possible.

Good for Wigan. Good for England. Bad news for over-rated, over-paid Aussies.

Bitchy and rather cruel add on there by you Wendall.

At least the thread title, Wigan Worriers, was very witty.
