St Helens have been rocked by the news hooker James Roby will be out of action for at least four weeks with a broken hand. Last season's Man of Steel sustained the injury in Friday's engage Super League defeat by Wakefield and will now miss the Challenge Cup semi-final against Huddersfield on August 9. The 23-year-old joins an injury list which already includes Sean Long (jaw), Jason Cayless (knee) and Maurie Fa'asavalu (broken arm). In a further blow for coach Mick Potter, youngster Johnny Lomax could be out for four to six weeks if a scan reveals ankle damage. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12196_5442425,00.htmlSeems like the Saints are struggling with injuries a bit and are letting Leeds back into the hunt. The loss of Long was off set by Eastmond who is now out with mumps. I think though that Saints are missing a goal kicker and this could see them struggle in tight games. Wellens was shocking against Wakefield and should never kick again. Roby is offset by Cunningham, but he seems far from fit at the moment. Then Long's organisational skills are missed. Also up front Graham seems to be doing all the graft, with Fasavalau and Cayless on the sidelines. Somehow I feel the balance of the Saints side has been upset with a few key individual missing. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Warrington still wouldn't beat us Quins away won't be easy with all those players missing, if we can get them back for the playoffs we should be ok as long as we can use the NFL system for kicking goals and bring on a kicker

Thoughts? All part and parcel of the game and has to be accepted without complaint. Most sides suffer injury, some more than others. It simply gives someone else an opportunity to fill the void. Soldier on regardless.

Soldier on regardless. Quite right. Although I am praying that no-one else suffers a serious knock in the next few weeks. I also read in the St Helens Star over the last few weeks that James Graham has a few "niggles" but is playing on. Its not looking good now however on the plus side in 4-6weeks time all our key players will be back to full fitness with a few weeks rest, just in time for the play-offs and that trophy that has eluded us in recent years. I could live without a Wembley trip this year if we get that

QUOTE (grunter @ Jul 20 2009, 12:06 PM) "The White Hanley" what does that mean? I thought the same – the only resemblance I see is that they both play(ed) rugby league

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in. I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen QUOTE The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

QUOTE (stimpo-and-kat @ Jul 20 2009, 12:25 PM) Hanley only lasted one season as a legend? Roby has been a legend for far longer than that! Yeah, but he was the driving force behind Saints *nearly* winning the last 2 Grand Finals and only fell short because he was cruelly cheated by having to play in the rain (which was legendary in its ferocity). The Black James Roby's record just doesn't compare.
