This from the BBC Sport website:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_leag..._kr/8232216.stm

No mention of this on the T & A site. Maybe the Bulls have stopped talking to the T & A after its dramatic, and hugely inaccurate, announcement about coaching staff changes the other week.

Not too surprised to see Cook go. Somehow he's never made the big breakthrough, and with younger prospects like Whitehead and Donaldson preferred recently, his days at the club looked numbered.

Other clubs seem to rate him highly. Maybe a move is what he needs. Good luck to the lad.

Bit of a risk given that he's aged six years in the last four

So who would you get rid of to let Cook in?

He's already said on other forums - Worrincy.

I'd really like to hear the club's take on this. Trouble is, we'll probably not read it in the T&A after that article where Cook said he could not understand why he had been dropped - I suspect that really pîssed the club off and made them put a bar on players talking to Dave the Rave - and I am getting the impression the club is hunkering down in the bunker after all the flak from supposed fans. Not sure that helps anybody, though.

Hmmmm.....

They let Atkins go and he ended up as an England centre.

Halley performed so well they grabbed him back.

They used to play Pryce on the wing and put him on the bench all the time.

But are Bradford the only club to doubt the ability of their young lads?.

Are leeds as guilty with Smith, carvell, Rayner etc etc

Really happy with this signing.

Morgan has an excellent reputation for improving young British players like Fox, Murrell, Wheeldon, Colbon. Cockayne etc and I am sure he is coach who can finally unlock Cook's massive potential.

Lets hope he can also do the same with Hull FC's newly-crowned 'Reserve Team Player of the Year' too!

The sooner Burgess leaves the Bulls for the NRL the better for all concerned. Bradford aint the place for players to fullfil their potential.

is it a case of bradford not wanting him or more likely cook wanting more money than bradford were prepared to give him.
players who start at one club tend to think they can earn more by saying there going to another club.this has been seen at leeds who have lost many players because they quite rightly refused to be backed into a bidding war even though it has seen many good players leave headingley .

many good players have left Leeds and yet they still have won the last 2 Grand Finals, which proves to me that Leeds have the right policys which are only pay a player what he is worth and continue to develop your own players.

correct and lets face it no decent club can afford to keep all its promising juniors and stay solvent.
also theres nothing wrong in signing other clubs juniors if you notice a gap in junior development such as leeds have noticed at prop forward this season.

Now official.

Josh Hodgson has easily been Hull FC's best reserve player this year and was outstanding in last week's Headingley nines.

Will definitely get his chance at hooker next year with Fitzhenry leaving and I am looking forward to see how he develops under Morgan.

Taken from your club's official site;

The Reserves team’s stand out performer this season, Josh Hodgson, picked up Reserve Team Player of the Year.
The hooker, scrum-half or even back-row has been impressively consistent all season and has arguably been Hull’s Man of the Match in pretty much every reserve fixture this season.

Seems to suggest he's easily been the best player this year!

For the record, I did see him play in the Reserve Derby at Craven Park earlier this year and thought he was the best player on the pitch, despite playing for the losing side. I also thought he was arguably Hull FC's best player in the Headingley Nines.

With Tommy Lee leaving, a serious injury cloud over Berrigan and Agar's seemingly lukewarm attitude towards Danny Houghton, Hodgson was definitely someone Hull FC didn't want to lose!

To be honest I like Cookie. He`s been steady enough over the last few years and can`t be faulted for effort, though he`s never really lived up to the huge potential that every one assumed he had back when he was in his mid-teens. A little like Lee Radford, another `under-achiever` who also turned into a solid pro without hitting superstar status and who I also had a lot of time for.

Cook looked like getting a regular spot on a couple of occasions over the last few years but he always seemed to get knocked back by injury. Actually the analogy with Radders isn`t quite right since Lee really did push on to make a spot his own whereas, for whatever reason in truth, Cookie just hasn`t. A new club; a new start. It may be just what he needs.

With Lee shipping out, the best Hodgson could hope for is to step up from fourth in line to third in line behind Berrigan and Houghton for the foreseeable future.

Makes perfect sense for him to take the opportunity with Hull KR and for Hull to let him go. Whether it's a good move for Hull KR only time will tell.

Good luck to the lad.

So, what you are saying then is the undeniable star of your reserves is merely the fourth best hooker at the club!

Jeez...what does that say about the rest of the reserves?
