What a shambles the pitch is. Worst pitch in the league, Leeds should be thrown out and replaced by Widnes or by Warrington's second team.

Actually the pitch has always been terrible in winter for as long as I can remember.

It was terrible before the kick and clap boys arrived.

I think you're right. The Headingley pitch used to be legendary for being flat, even, and in the days when RL was a winter sport still well grassed. Now it looks like sh!t heap and it's obviously down to the Union.

I can't help but notice NE isn't defending the Headingley pitch.

This is presumably because he's never seen it.

The groundsman at headingley won the award for the best playing surface of any sport anywhere in england last season. Unbelievable but true. He's got his work cut out this year.

It was the spectator sports ground of the year award and guess who the other two finalists were................................................. Arsenals emirates stadium and CRAVEN PARK HULL. Never thought i'd hear those two mentioned in the same breath.

Presumably the same guy who produces the "result" wickets on the cricket ground?

I remember reading that, and that's despite being used for League, union and as a car park when there's a cricket match on

Sorry, but I remember it looking like Scarborough beach during the 80's , hardly any grass on it,just loads of sand.

Hasn't it been covered for the last month or so to keep the snow off? That's can't have helped.

The big problem with union being played on it is the pitch is subjected to a constant cycle of being covered in spittle from the supporters shouting when a lineout is being taken and then blow dried as they all make "sshhhhhh" noises as a kick is about to be taken.
