In a nutshell: A weakened Hull FC side upset the odds to record what in the end was a comfortable victory over Salford.

How it unfolded:
First half: Hull had to see off some early pressure before they finally took the lead, as Jacob Miller scored. Gren Johnson pulled a score back for Salford before a Jamie Shaul try made it 12-4 at the break.

Second half: Tries from Ben Crooks and Richard Horne put Hull in control at 24-4, before Junior Sa’u got Salford’s second. However, Theo Fages missed the kick. Hull then had to absorb even more pressure, but their defence stood tall. And they were rewarded when Liam Watts crashed over. FT 30-8.
