Match report: Newcastle Knights 6-32 Brisbane Broncos

In a nutshell
Brisbane outclassed Newcastle to take the two points in convincing style.

How it unfolded
16’ – Alex Glenn opens Brisbane’s account after Jack Reed jumped highest to knock back a cross-field kick. Parker misses the conversion: 0-4.

22’ – The Broncos spread it to the right, Ben Barba sells the Knights defence a dummy, and over goes Matt Gillett, who overpowers Darius Boyd. Parker doesn’t miss this time: 0-10.

27’ – Newcastle’s Willie Mason held up.

31’ – Ben Barba scores his first try for Brisbane. Daniel Vidot looked to be going into touch but released a pass at the perfect time, which found Jack Reed, who in turn found Barba. Parker lands the conversion: 16-0.

36’ – Beau Scott held up a metre short before Korbin Sims powers over from close range. Roberts converts: 6-16.

63’ – Broncos push further ahead with a Dale Copley try assisted by Ben Barba. Parker misses the conversion: 6-20.

69’ – Parker lands a penalty conversion: 6-22.

73’ – Ben Hannant tales a short Ben Hunt pass and crashes over. Conversion missed: 6-26.

79’ – Josh Hoffman goes over under the sticks and Parker converts to end the game: 6-32.
