How it unfolded

First half: The Saints led 22-6 at half-time, thanks to scores from Dawson, Wheeler, Wellens and Hohaia. Huddersfield’s solitary score came through Larne Patrick.

Second half: The points kept on coming;  first Jon Wilkin pounced to extend the lead, before Ben Blackmore scored immediately from the kick-off to reply for Huddersfield.  Masoe and Ferres exchanged tries before Wheeler scored his second.
