The manager of St Helens boss Nathan Brown has hinted the Australian might apply for the vacant head coach role at New Zealand Warriors, which Wigan boss Shaun Wane has been strongly linked with.
The 40-year-old, who coached St George-Illawarra Dragons and Huddersfield Giants before taking up his role at Langtree Park, is currently third favourite with Australian bookmaker Sportsbet to be handed the role, which caretaker Andrew McFadden is set to give up at the end of 2014 after Matt Elliott was sacked this week.
When quizzed on his client’s desire to take the job, Brown’s manager, George Minis, told the Australian Daily Telegraph: “Nathan is a career coach who has proven himself to be a wonderful developmental coach along with being a very good man manager.
“At present he is well ensconced at St Helens but, at the appropriate time, clearly it’s his goal to re-enter the NRL market.”
