New Dragons deal for Fakir

Jamal Fakir has signed a new one-year contract with Catalan Dragons, keeping him at the Gilbert brutus stadium until the end of the 2014 season, with an option for the 2015 season.
“I’m really happy to extend my contract with the Catalans Dragons. I arrived at the club in 2003 and I’m really proud to celebrate my 10 years here. My motivation is entire and I really want to share my experience with the young players who are coming through,” said Fakir.
The French international prop, 31, made 22 appearances this season, scoring 2 tries in the process.
He celebrated his 150th appearance under the Dragons jersey this season.
Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous said, “He proved this season again he could be one of the best forwards in the competition when he is at his best level. We will need him next season, his quality and his experience will be valuable in the squad.”
