Salford Red Devils’ recruitment drive for 2015 is reportedly scouring the Championship, with top Leigh Centurions centre Cameron Pitman supposedly on the radar of Marwan Koukash, according to the MEN.
The young Aussie has been in sensational form for the Centurions so far this season, and has played a big role in their undefeated start to the season. That has attracted the attention of several Super League clubs, with the Red Devils thought to be high up on the list of clubs admiring Pitman.
There is also a further twist in the tale, too. Pitman’s sister Chelsea, who is a professional netball player, is dating Kevin Locke – arguably Salford’s biggest ever signing, who will arrive in time for the beginning of the 2015 season – throwing further fuel on the fire when it comes to rumours over Pitman’s future.
He isn’t the only Centurion to be courted by Super League clubs – and the Red Devils in particular – with Koukash tweeting earlier this season that Leigh half-back Ryan Brierley was a player he was looking to bring into the club.
