In 1907, a team of New Zealand rugby players, who later came to be known with pride as the `All Golds’, embarked upon a five month tour of England and Wales. Reviled by the establishment, both at home and abroad, the tourists were men ahead of their time – pioneers – men brave enough to be New Zealand’s trail-blazers, in the drive towards the kind of fair treatment (already enjoyed by cricketers of their day) that our present day rugby players of both codes now take for granted. This is their story.
