I left for work today not too long after dawn, it was grey and miserable weather as well. A motorbike pulled out of a junction ahead of me without looking, a nice new big black Suzuki, no lights on, black leathers, black helmet. He then turned right at a really iffy roundabout without indicating, right in front of another car who came onto the roundabout and clearly didn't see him.
The rant is that motorbikes are the most likely motor vehicle to be in an accident, the rider must know that yet rode in all black kit, without headlights on and without indicating. Using my phrase of last week: slack jawed imbecile. If you know that a good percentage of drivers treat mirrors as vanity tools and don't adjust them or use from when the car was new, and you know that you're all bar invisible then at least do some basic defensive riding and have at least headlights on to make you more visible on a dark morning.
