In the Alps this week. Have been attempting to acclimatise on Gran Paradiso before heading up Mt Blanc later in the week. But we’ve been thwarted so far by deep but very soft wet snow. Went up to 3200m yesterday and spent half the time digging ourselves out when we disappeared in the soft snow. Calves, hamstrings and lower back are on fire today...

I've only followed them from afar and to a slight degree. However, for such a massive club/franchise, they must rank as one of the biggest failures. The last time they won the Stanley Cup, I had yet to go to my first football match of any code. Then again, I wasn't aware of them before the early 70's.

I was too stubborn to quit. Even a few hours later my legs struggled to go up some steps. This morning I used the poor lonely arm cycle machine in the gym. It just sits there unused so I thought I’d give it a crack. It’s not really a cardio machine. It does give the arms and shoulders a good workout though.

You'd think so wouldn't you? Somewhat disappointingly he was pushing a lawnmower.
