  1. Wighton is class and had another good game but Williams was clearly the better performer in that match

  2. Work in progress. Gutherson is ok/good, but hes not elite. Reminds me of Ratchford in that sense. Brown is still new and a bit of a maverick at the moment, not sure on what his game is. Moses is the general, clearly. But needs to be better against the better teams. A bit of a cop out, but you get the drift. I dont know enough about Mahoney. Parra's strength is their exit sets on the back of Sivo, Ferguson and to a certain extent Blake. I personally dont think this is good enough for them to be talked about as they are, but one of my best mates is a Parra fan so maybe im being too negative. As i said. WIP in terms of my understanding of them.

  3. Totally agree. I think Farnworth should aim to cement the open right wing spot this year (he has his chance this weekend) and then he'll be in a good position to take the centre spot when Boyd decides to have mercy on all us poor suffering fans, and actually retire.

  4. Welsh grandparents, he’s visited Wales a few times when younger I believe and is in the elite training squad* *Usually that means little but I know Wales RL have asked eligible players to sign-in with their intention to play. Two rather ‘big name’ (heritage) players haven’t, Aekins has. There’s some hope he can play there then

  5. His contributions were central to deciding the game . The praise , three games in at a new club in a new comp , was more than justified . Good on him

  6. Interesting that Graham is starting, I thought he might have been injured in the last game as he didn't play many minutes

  7. Has been named in the Wales RL train on squad for Euro Championship and World Cup, so I would have thought that conversations have been had. Of Maori/Welsh descent.

  8. Or a 7. Missing Cleary is huge for Penrith. With the changes in the rules, i foresee a shift from a ball playing 1 to a more running style. The trend will be to go to an edge and come back to the middle where the A and B defenders will in theory be more tired. Negates the need to have a ball playing 1 out the back of a block play - it'll still be there, but less so. Regarding Farnworth, really looking forward to seeing him play centre; with an England WC hat on, we're light there so a good season or 2 and he could be the next Jack Reed ?

  10. I know very, very little about films and tv, but Michael Angelis left a big impression on me as a youngster. Boys from the Blackstuff was a smack-in-the-chops kind of tv show when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old, a real eye-opener in the unforgettable days of Thatcherism. But what I really remember Angelis for was a screenplay, also by Alan Bleasedale I think, called No Surrender, which I didn't watch until I was a politicised student at the end of the 80s. I watched it over and over and loved the characters, especially Angelis as the nightclub manager. https://www.comedy.co.uk/film/no_surrender/ R.I.P.

  12. Demitri Pelo is Polynesian from Wallis & Futuna but raised in New Caledonia. The below Rugby Union article is about Wallis & Futuna producing the most professional Rugby players per head of population. https://www.rugbypass.com/news/tiny-nation-produces-professional-rugby-players-per-capita-earth/ A movie called Mecenaire is based around a player from Wallis & Futuna via New Caledonia going to play in France.
