Glad others picked up the slack for me with the updates when my phone died. Absolutely superb that.... Les Dragons well and truly had their fire extinguished and ended up more like Puff the Magic Dragon! I think we even managed to convert a token Swinton fan who was in our touring party!5 points

Yeh, so, Salford to get relegated. Is that still a thing?5 points

As always with these decisions the punishment often depend on the player. If it's a player a club rates the said player they will always have a lot more leeway than someone they don't. Then it becomes a convenient excuse to get rid.5 points

Well played the disabled reds4 points

We probably have a free hit against a excellent Leigh side, hopefully we will put in a good performance and don't pick up any more injury's from the game.4 points

In all seriousness, how much is he being paid? £30 a week appearance fee, £20 win bonus?4 points

Well done Wakefield, delighted you (should) will be in Super League next year.4 points

As a Salford fan we always expect the unexpected, it's in our DNA! I'll start thinking about Thursday's match though the minute I set foot on the tarmac back at Mcr airport on Thu lunchtime. Until then I'm gonna soak up some rays in Lloret and try not to think about how many Utd might concede on Monday....3 points

A truly remarkable score line, very well done Salford, and as I seem to have said more than once recently, chuffed for Tony xiii and all the other Salford fans on here.3 points

I cannot understand why suspensions seem to be taken into account. If a team is short on players because they have some suspended why should they be allowed to replace them with loan players? Suspension is supposed to be a punishment, not an excuse to bring in others.3 points

Jarrow take the title, winning 32:20. A good game.3 points

Do you mean a repeat of when Toronto paid for their championship games to be broadcast on Sky, so everyone could watch them?3 points
-
No. There are many, many jobs where if you are representing your company and turn up for work drunk or even still smelling of alcohol from the night before where it's quite likely to lead to a charge of gross misconduct and possibly sacking. My previous job didn't involve driving but I, and everyone else who worked there, knew that if we were caught using a mobile while driving we would be immediately dismissed. We also had random alcohol and drug tests which if positive again would lead to instant dismissal.3 points

It might also explain a certain Club’s disciplinary record this season if that’s how training sessions go3 points
-
We've all done it though. The bloke must have other previous disciplinary issues to be sacked on the spot.3 points
-
Now if your job involved you driving for a living then that would be a different matter and you could be sacked for gross misconduct. There is no way on earth that what he has done is a sackable offence unless he has previous which we don't know. Again though we don't know the full story of if he rang in sick, turned up but was intoxicated, or anything else.3 points

I understand and side with you on much of that, however… This season there were 1,132 kids registered to play junior RL in South Wales.3 points

Good job we did end up with 4 halfbacks as only 2 available , squad again looks decent on paper with so many out , how many times have we said that this season only to come away disappointed , iam sure we'll put the effort in so good luck on mission impossible.3 points

It gets worse Tim. I have failed an fitness this morning. You are now playing on both wings.3 points

While I see your first point on eagles history in the area that has to be balanced by the fact the last decade has been a desperate struggle to stay alive with no home and most resources taken up by trying to find a home for the next year etc. It's made it tough to concentrate on anything else. This is my big hope for the OLP, it may not be the best stadium in the world but its a home and a base which allows the club to concentrate on other things, like the juniors. It's a bit chicken and egg, without the fixtures the players won't commit and without the players you can't get the fixtures. Hopefully it's a cycle that can break. The players we have had have really enjoyed it but union holds out as that's where they've started. Now the concept has been proven in terms of it working for the club the full aim has to be to start them earlier.3 points

Not too bothered about this one. If we can score and d keep them under 50 I’d class that as a decent result. A better result would be no more injuries2 points

Expected to start at 10:30pm, but after the inevitable delays, the preposterous ring walks, the alphabetti spaghetti title announcements and all the other nonsense you get before a big fight, the first punch will be thrown probably closer to 11.2 points

I still feel that we need to be at our best and we need Fev to have an off day to win. But pressure is off and we know the lads will give it their best shot Up the Shipbuilders!2 points

It’s a team game, it should be that both suffer. Player gets a suspension, no excuse for lack of players.2 points

Toronto gave the game something to sell that other sports in this country don’t and when they signed SBW the league didn’t do anything to try to capitalise on it. With hindsight Toronto would have been better off going into Super League with a few years relegation exemption like Catalans instead of having to squander a fortune in those years they had to be in the lower leagues.2 points

The game could do with an orchard full of this type of fruit, put his sort at the helm of every pro club we have and the game would be in a far healthier state than we have today.2 points

Actuall 'arry in some ways I wish we weren't and now we're safe I'd rather concentrate on next year TBH. An interest in car crashes is a turn on for loads of people and I'm sure much of that interest also stemmed from people who wish it was two clubs going down especially if it was both french sides. There are many things which create magic and international interest in sport and it's ability to sell itself on a global scale and for all the championing that goes on on these pages P&R isn't one of them.2 points

It's been a tough week for everyone involved with the club. What I know is we have good people who care about the club involved. Keith Christie said in his programme notes on Sunday there's going to be news on the community side. As fans we can look to organise events in the off season. For me personally I think there's loads of scope for growth still.2 points

I hope you're right because restructure isn't going to change anything and neither is licencing nor loads of criteria which clubs can't achieve as a gateway for inclusion. These are just a sport looking inwards and at illusions cos it's out of love with itself. RL's problems are almost entirely due to image and marketing and it needs to be sold, sold and sold again and it needs to present a picture of what it is a brilliant, exciting sport with a fantastic cultural base and a history that represents so much more than it broke away from a boring, dominant and abusive parent.2 points

As Anita Bath alluded to it the word "professional" does appear to be relevant. You don't get yourself drunk if you've got work the day after (not normally the best idea in the world).2 points

Well thats my season over... I cant make the last two home games due to family commitments. I hope i am not a keyboard warrior or not a true fan because of this. See you all next season. UTT2 points

Not many poor ones and plenty of outstanding ones! For me he ranks very high up on the list of scrum halves we have had wearing the Batley shirt in my lifetime. Not irreplaceable, but the club will have to work hard to find someone who can do as good a job.2 points

The biggest issue was expecting fans to prefer to watch better opposition than watching a winning town side, which on this seasons gates proves that it’s absolute nonsense. Fans want to watch a winning side no matter what level, we never blew many sides away last year but were in a lot of compelling close matches that fans enjoyed, who can forget that last second winner vs Rochdale by buffer. We were a good league 1 side that probably over exceeded what anyone thought was capable last year, so it was never going to work putting a few Newcastle cast offs into that squad and think we’d be anything other than what we are now, especially after losing our best player last season in Holroyd.2 points

This is the same Newcastle Thunder, along with Bradford Bulls, York and Lalaland Leopards who should be fast tracked into super league at the expense of Salford, Huddersfield and Wakefield yeah? Or a different one?2 points
