  1. York bring nothing to the game. They need to be thrown out of the league. Time to concentrate on the heartlands. Etc etc etc

  3. There’s an old saying that”what goes around, comes around” and it’s very true. My team, Workington, have been stuffed twice by Leigh this season, but back in 1993 or 94 we beat them 94-4 in the Challenge cup, and the only reason it wasn’t three figures was because the ref started seeing non existent forward passes in the last 5 minutes. So hang in there, you York fans, cos you’ll get your revenge one day….

  4. Thought I would just bring this back. Some belting comments, especially from the forum’s expert Sir Kevin Sinfield.

  5. Back down to earth with a bump for Widnes today, we really need to get some size and grunt into the pack and stop giving away silly penalties. Good to see that we seem to be catching Leigh next week when they are struggling for form.

  6. That's why they are called Centurions. They had to live up to their name one day.

  7. I have to much dignity to say anything relating to that scoreline, but I will say one thing though if any player has ever displayed 100% professional pride then put Chris Clarkson at the top of that list, he never stopped trying.

  8. https://amp.abc.net.au/article/101352192 have a read how this 100+ year old RL club went from crisis discussions of folding at the start of the year, to winning the district comp by the end of the season. All with a 17 yo as Captain/Coach.

  10. First season for Pontyclun, a strong effort to get so far. Cynon Valley deserved winners. A Cynon Valley lad made his debut for Salford’s reserves yesterday - an all round good week for the club

  11. I was timekeeper. Each half was 40 minutes apart from when the ref stopped the game for injuries. You're more than welcome to take over as time keeper for our next home game on 3rd September.

  12. I'm not sure anyone suggested to 'get them in' with their current squad. That is ridiculous.

  13. Lads were great today. Let’s face it if someone said you will finish in a playoff position at the start of the season you have snapped their hand off. The team has achieved that so any thing more is a bonus. Been great to watch

  14. my mum, aged 82. Proud Leigh supporter, season ticket holder for god only knows how many years, the woman that took me to my first match and made me a knitted scarf for the event( Leigh versus Australia). She also founded and became chair-woman of the ladies branch of the Leigh board in the late 60's?. I have a fabulous photo of her holding the challenge cup in 1971 with a wonderful smile on her face. She was also a non contributor on this forum, a lurker if you will, under the name of anne moores, because, well, thats her name. I will miss her, goodnight mum.x

  15. Unbelievable result when York beat us at barrow I thought you had a very good side. Was surprised when we beat you at home.

  16. Been on a downward spiral since the beginning of July, but didn't see us getting beat by this scoreline said in a earlier post that to many players haven't improved or have gone backwards this season hope we can get a performance of some kind next Friday against Sheffield.listened to Fordy after the game and he certainly pulled no punches about the performance today sad day for the knights and the supporters.

  18. Heard him live in Radio York. He is a top man and Coach. Does not deserve that today.

  21. A good crowd as always. Young Hywel Evans a deserved MOTM with a hat-trick of tries in Aber Valley’s back row.

  22. Lucky for us, the Rochdale kicker left his kicking boots at home, although it did feel like 12 against 14 for the last 15 minutes or so. A win's a win and we now have to try and enjoy what's left, not only of the season, but this fine side that Anthony Murray and his coaching team have built. All eyes on the Keepmoat today, a win for Keighley will not only confirm their promotion, it will also guarantee at least third place for the Cru. A win for Doncaster will give them real momentum and confidence going into the playoffs. Spoke to Anthony Murray after the game (as usual, he came to the Park to chat with the fans). He said that he has not got another job lined up and just needs to take a break. He'd like to stay in the game, so we will have to wait and see, but he is North Wales Crusaders through and through. Also spoke to a director regarding a home venue for the playoffs. I was told that the move to Warrington is a one off and that we will be back at Eirias Park for the playoffs. He sounded very confident, although I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping he's proved right.

  26. 14 team Super league with the 12 who are in it now, plus the 2 teams who reach the championship grand final. A condition of Super League for me is though all Super League clubs must have academies.

  29. Defo for next year and looking into how the club can be run better. It obvious these been mistakes made by the past board and the present board hopefully they will get people with a lall bit of money to back the great club. Volunteers down there are absolutely brilliant but u can't run the club on them alone .

  37. "For the money that's been spent" Leigh, Fev, Newcastle and Halifax have all spent more than us. Our place at 6th on the ladder is about right. Barrow & Batley doing incredibly well punching above their budget.

  40. Leigh are running riot, the extra fitness of a full time side really showing now. No lack of effort from the Knights, just can't cope with the speed and strength of Leigh. They are very good.

  46. Suppose it’s a fair point about youth. Seems the opposite for trinity. We always seem to have a couple coming through who make solid SL players and show promise. Murphy, Hall and Eseh are this years. Croft and Aydin, Bowes the year before or so. Batchelor and Crowther prior to that. Johnstone and Jowitt before that. For the shortcomings at trinity the academy and youth progression cannot be doubted. Maybe it’s because at trinity we often have to rely on them for strings of games on occasion.

  47. Nailbiter in the end down by the seaside in Colwyn Bay (could Muzza make the players write out one thousand times 'when comfortably ahead with a few minutes to go I must not put the cue in the rack'!), although Rochdale were helped by what I made out to be over eight minutes added on time. Never mind, what's done is done and we still ended up with two points. Keighley away next week and on today's performance - HELP!!!
