  1. I'm a bit concerned Barrow signed a dual reg with Salford. Barrow signed the deal hoping to gain some players I'm worried due to our current form that Salford are going to start taking ours.

  7. First time being at Belle Vue in a long time. Place just looks so much better than it used to. Far better match day experience. Great stuff, Wakey.

  8. But we've done that. Remember when his team took the TV deal down from £40m to £25m?

  9. Quite embarrassed by McManus and his statement. That reads like a 12 year old has put it together. If you have an issue, fine. But do it professionally.

  10. Just listened to Ryan Hall on Sky. This man speaks so well about our game. When he retires he should be utilised by the RFL, not just Leeds.

  11. In a statement criticising the RFL, this is a really poor section: "Domestically, the last four years have seen a £30 million per year downturn in the financial performance of our sport. Super League clubs and their owners pay £5 million per year to the RFL for their services: the above clearly indicates that we are not getting value for money and have witnessed a major destruction in shareholder value." This completely erases the part where his breakaway group oversaw the reduction from the peak of £40m (negotiated by Nigel Wood). This is absolutely gaslighting, people are being given a very censored version of history by him in his attack.

  12. Both individuals were charged with making inappropriate tweets when much younger was the main part of the discussion. The actual content wasn’t in that instance being discussed or referred to. That was the original poster’s view, my take and a number of others viewpoint as well. To make out that the racism contained in Robinson’s tweets implied that Gregson was guilty of the same comes across as stretching the point. The 2 individual’s cases have similarities but are far & away from being identical. I appreciate that you will have your own view especially with regards to the “stretching the point” part but that’s your choice just as it is mine to have my own view

  14. By all accounts Wakefield could have sold another 1200 tickets for last nights match v Hull FC. During the off season Matt Ellis (Trinity owner) said attendances this season would determine the size and speed of new developments to the stadium. Well the last 4 meaningful matches at Belle Vue have been Toulouse Grand Final - sold out (about 27 fans from France) Hull KR - sold out (could have been more but new terracing only completed hours before the game) Sts - 7000 (Wet & windy Thursday night game which was live on SKY & Sts small travelling numbers) Hull FC - sold out (Could have sold 9000+ tickets)

  15. Great sellout crowd at Wakefield and great travelling support by Hull FC.

  16. Well done to your lads it was a good win. Not unexpected though, cos bradford at best are an average championship side. Overated players on silly wages, but that's them all over. Made my wk end. ( Batley fan )

  17. Can we now all stop driving the narrative that Bradford are the natural replacement for Salford should one be needed?

  18. Haha, I love hearing the players talk to eachother - Smith to Croft "Why are you challenging that, are you stupid?"

  22. Which is fine. But we cannot just self-edit the nonsense about the French World Cup and the SLE-led tv deal situation. I don't disagree with much of your post and my position is relatively close to yours, but we shouldn't accept bulls*** from men like this who won't accept their own failures.

  28. It was one of the most uninspiring coups ever. The pres conference was just weird. And my club's owner was a big part of it, although he spent much of it sitting looking uninterested iirc and wasn't that impressive a speaker.

  31. So why did Super League, the RFL and RL Commercial not do anything then about Vegas? It literally wouldn't have happened without Wigan showing the initiative and paying for it. It seems a bit rich to complain about something that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Initiatives that elevate the game should be applauded. Similarly if the Dublin game goes ahead next year, organised by Warrington in return, that should be welcomed. If other clubs and bodies are too lazy and aren't willing to pay and take the risks then that's on them. Also why did the RFL approve it if they were that offended? That certainly wasn't the portrayal of any of the parties who subsequently piggy backed off it.

  32. So what stopped any of the other 10 clubs making a direct approach to the NRL? As for the RFL “rolling over” isn’t more of a case of Wigan & Warrington have come up with this great idea so crack on as we’ve other things to do

  34. Any chance we can dial things down a little bit in here, folks? I don't want to have to spend my whole weekend keeping an eye on this thread to ensure it doesn't turn into a car crash. Argue the point, not the person. Refrain from posting personal insults or questioning someone's sanity just because you happen to disagree with them on a particular issue. How about don't post anything on here you wouldn't say to someone's face, or attach your real identity to? That might calm things down a bit. Thanks.

  35. Absolutely brilliant, keeping fans updated, Mike and bill are the biggest assets ORLFC have ever had, with those two guys in charge there will be no stopping where this club can go. I

  38. How can you forget the name of Warrington's finest porn star, Max Wood?
    3 points
  39. Par for the course for them, we had the same when we turned them over a few years back at Town, they've an overinflated opinion of their own self importance. Great win by your boys, and a great star to the season. Hope you can keep the run going deep into the schedule.

  40. I'm no Wood fan but the IRL statement was well outside their remit. It was clearly political and based upon someone's personal view and what another governing body thinks of an individual, which is clearly wrong. Based upon what happened with Wood during his tenure in the past they also had absolutely no justification for that attack. At worst the international game was no worse then and at best it could be argued was in better shape. We certainly wouldn't have seen a similar statement by the IRL with whoever the NRL appointed in a similar situation. Its also in stark contrast to the frequent IRL rhetoric of having to work with the NRL and its clubs, which essentially means just doing as they say. The same courtesy should extend to SL and its leaders.

  41. Herbie Farnworth, the best centre in the world. Just cause he never played SL does not mean he isn’t a product of British rugby league. He played as a junior for Wigan St Pats and Newton Storm, played for England Academy. Only moved to Brisbane when he was 17-18. and your point is invalid because there really hasn’t been to many guys that have tried. Just Gildart, Eden, Burgess none of whom were particularly stars in SL, and Murphy and Hall who had horrible runs with injuries when over here. 2/5 guys becoming some of the best outside backs in the NRL is pretty good numbers. and it’s not like we’ve seen guys like Wardle, Ashton, Prime Hall, Prime Makinson etc in NRL. All of them would have been absolute stars in the NRL.

  42. Won 8-18. Didn't watch the game but that is an absolutely ridiculous result. Beat Oldham and Bradford who probably have squads treble our budget and have conceded on average 12.5 points across our first 4 games. If you want to treat your mother on mother's day take her down to Craven Park for the York game.
