That’s two in the bag, got to say it was great to see Browny get on and score and Ukuma too, plus big Jack Teanby here watching and part of the Knights group. Batley made a game of it but what impressed me more than anything and proves what a class club Batley are is the way the whole team stayed whilst the Knights picked up the League Leaders Shield, pure class. To me that epitomises what Rugby League is all about.11 points

Just want to say what a class club Batley are, to a man the team stayed on the field whilst the Knights were picking up the League Leaders Shield, pure class.6 points

It now transpires that both Championship play off matches are to be played next Friday. This means 6 games on the same night:- Leigh v Giants, Saints v Cas, Salford v Wakefield, Wigan v Leeds, Bradford v Fev and Oldham v Fax. So 5 out of the 6 will have fans crossing the Pennines on a busy Friday night. Not only that but the weather has turned distinctly autumn. Surely at least the play off games could have been played on Sunday which would have given fans of Superleague teams a chance to attend.5 points

I've supported York RL for over sixty odd years and during that time always had a soft spot for Batley, IMO a loveable sort of club. As above, they showed their class today by staying on the pitch for the presentations to one of the best group of players that have ever represented York. A great day for the greatest game for so many reasons5 points

Inspired coaching from Cookey...having been the better team for 70 minutes he clearly sent out the instructions to let Bradford win so we would play them again on Friday (for the avoidance of doubt, I'm joking there...) Thought we had a proper dig under a great deal of adversity today until running out of steam in the last 10 minutes. Hard not to think that with Reynolds and Hampshire in the line-up we would have had much more penetration with all the good ball we had. Losing Hardcastle and Jones to HIAs in the first 25 minutes was clearly a huge blow and probably had a significant impact on how we used our interchanges, probably accentuated by the fact that two of our bench forwards (Akauola and Stevens) haven't had many minutes in recent months and Cooke was probably tring not to overplay them. Beckett I think didn't return after his initial 45-minute stint and we had some tired bodies on the field in the last 10 minutes. I thought we played way better than the score suggests given the circumstances, it's hard to see us getting much out of the game on Friday given the players that will be missing but despite the final scoreline I thought that was a performance that deserved a lot of credit.5 points

Well, unless Salford do us the mother of all favours next week, the playoffs are decided. Obviously I'm disappointed but also pleased for the Wakefield fans who only 2 years ago were going through the wringer. That club has come an awful long way in such a short time and you should all be very proud.5 points

I thought it was a good game. I wouldn't have put it in the top tier games I had seen and surprised to see this thread pop up. There were some good tries and of course the drama of the Raiders celebrating the win twice and then losing, but also a lot of errors. Still wonderful entertainment.3 points

Apart from the on-field performance what stood out today was the quality of the on and off field key personnel as evidenced by their eloquent and composed post-match interviews. Liam Harris, captain; a committed, motivational, inspirational, modest, lead by example playmaker. Mark Applegarth, coach; a thorough, knowledgeable, savvy, hardworking, judge me by my results tactician. Clint Goodchild, chairman; a dynamic, forward-thinking, visionary, wise, knowledgeable, results focused leader. Nice of Clint to acknowledge Andy as "The voice of the Knights." We are in good hands.3 points

Well said, and Andy Atkinson is for many people the only way they can follow the Knights, either because they are no longer within these shores either temporarily or permanently or they are unable for whatever reason to attend matches, his enthusiasm and passion in his commentaries is the next best thing and brings the game alive for them.3 points

A try for Kris in his last game brought his Eagles total to 50. And a goal took his career total to three.3 points

Final Score Widnes 10 - 22 London Much more even second half, Widnes got back a couple tries and London got one more off a nice pass from Lovell. Widnes's last try was a nice double kick through. Hopefully Lucas Mason is alright after going off in the first half after writhing around on the floor in pain3 points

Ricky Hatton sadly passed, absolutely gutted. I was there the night he beat kostya tszyu, the best atmosphere at a sporting event I've ever experienced. 46 no age, a genuine world champion who fought the very best, came up short in a couple but an exciting fighter who carried British boxing in the 00s3 points

The takeover hasn’t even happened yet. They’re obviously hyping it to get RFL support. I’m confident the RFL won’t want a repeat of Salford and won’t be convinced by promises of jam tomorrow !!3 points

63 Years On: This month marks 63 years since I first stood on the touchline at Clarence Street, watching York take on Bramley in the Eastern Region Cup. We won 40–5 that day—and I’ve been hooked ever since. In the decades since, I’ve seen it all: the highs and lows, the rise of legends, and the ever-changing face of the game. But I can say, hand on heart, this is the finest team we’ve ever had. Not just in skill, but in spirit, unity, and the pride they show in wearing the Knights shirt. We’ve been blessed with great players over the years—many now immortalised in the Hall of Fame. Their names still echo through the stands, their stories passed down like folklore. But this current squad is writing a new chapter, and it’s one we’ll be proud to tell for generations.3 points

It’s people like you who are the backbone of our game, the unsung heroes who give their time and effort for no reward other than the pride you are showing now, it makes it all worthwhile.3 points

Have to share a really proud update. Two of my lads make their Origin debuts on Sunday. Just spoken with the two of them now and they are really looking forward to the challenge facing them of a rep game against players who have been playing for many years when they have so little experience. i reminded them how tough they have found things and then dealt with everything thats been thrown at them and will continue to do so. These kind of lads are the future of not just London RL but RL in this country. Hats off to them.3 points

It looks to me as though he juts his head into Young's chest/throat, with his big hair-do going into the chin. I do think it's a headbutt, regardless of where the main force connects.2 points
