  1. I don’t mind the music but appreciate it is not to everyone’s taste. It was great to see quite a number of the kids in the crowd dancing and singing along at times and it does seem to contribute to the atmosphere.
  2. What most on this forum have known for some time regarding our nearest neighbours has now been confirmed in parliament… https://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/news/24183117.george-galloway-labels-rochdale-a-subdivision-oldham/
  3. Bill Quinn is the Chairman of the new board and is in his 2nd stint at the club. Originally came on board when Chris Hamilton was in charge but left after a couple of years. With the change in ownership last year Bill came back on board and his vision and motivation for the club is incredible. Bill is very open in comms and the club have stated sponsorship is up 5 times on last year so he is bringing in additional money. Season ticket sales well up on last year and crowds up with the move to Boundary Park. Believe the club benefit more from ground sales than they did at their last “home” so all bringing in additional revenue. Mike Ford as CEO has the on field vision and has done great signing the squad we have in place but Bill brings the cash and some sponsorship.
  4. Believe it is the 4th Feb at 3pm
  5. Great to read the names of so many quality players….some before my time watching the Yeds but lots of familiar names I agree with. it got me thinking to the best single performance I have seen from an Oldham player and I immediately think of Bobby Lindner when he was Oldham player/coach in an away game at St Helens. Oldham facing relegation needed some big results at the season end and came up with a 26-30 win at Knowsley Road. No one player can win games but I remember walking away from the ground with the biggest smile, sore throat from shouting and completely in awe of the shift that Lindner put in that day. It was tiring just to watch
  6. Would imagine it is at the request of Latics as will give them an opportunity for maintenance work on the pitch?
  7. Just seen on the Widnes twitter feed that CH has a new job…..building on his wealth of experience in rugby league! ”Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Hamilton to head up the integrated operations of the club”
  8. https://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/139/main-news/151108/roughyeds-announce-new-owners-as-hamilton-steps-aside-after-25-eventful-years
  9. Very much about the rugby……and that is all I can really say without giving too much away. Jim Ratcliffe is apparently pre occupied on another bid at the moment so can confirm he is not involved in this announcement. Will be a press conference at 10am headed by all involved parties and not just a tweet put out at 10!
  10. I would expect a press conference style announcement so look out for local media social media and yes the club social media. It will be worth the wait
  11. I understand the announcement will be Friday 10am.
  12. Interesting comment from the council leader “it secures the future of rugby in Oldham”
  13. Yes indeed, it will get bigger!
  14. As frustrating as the delay in announcing the changes is I expect this is a result of ensuring all elements of the deal are signed, sealed and can be delivered upon before announcing. Afraid I have no idea as to when the announcement will be made. That said the contracts impacting the club have been agreed and signed but there may be other aspects of the announcement still being worked on? I would be very surprised if the announcement was slipped out via twitter or similar. I would expect a press conference which again takes time to arrange, align and schedule. Keep the faith.
