Reported that despite Wakefield's new money man spending cash for fun, Lachlan Walmsley had to contribute towards his own transfer fee to get the deal from Fax done. Nothing screams tin pot Rugby League more than things like this.
Happens in football quite often to be fair.

Cornwall are teasing a signing at 7pm tonight with a signing with clues about the word "Maltese". Just speculating as I'll admit to being able to count the number of Maltese players I know on the thumbs of one hand, but that would be a really interesting signing if they've managed to lure Sammut down there.
Or they've resigned Kaine Dimech

Yeah I`m excited and nervous about the whole thing, I think it will be a terrible look if the place is only half-full, but if what @Yakstormis reporting in the Aussie forums today (and he is very good with this stuff) that they are opening higher tiers and there has been good sales in those tiers immediately and a possibility of up to 23 000 tickets sold already, and that`s even before the official launch, is pretty promising.
A full or close to full house and the players will put on a better show and probably anyone that tunes in will stay tuned in.
HERE'S the Ticketmaster seat map for anyone that way inclined.
Block 339 for us!

Does anyone have a full schedule of the proposed dates for each round next year please?

Newcastle (A) and Wakefield (H) in the Caravan Cup is a perfect pre-season schedule for the Kneets. That'll do me!

I always liked Blake Austin. Was also happy he declared his allegiance to play for this country. It would not harm this country, if there were more players like him, that wanted to play for this country through heritage or was born here.
Happy he has found a club in Australia to play for. Best of luck to him. He has played for some well known clubs Canberra / Warrington / Leeds and Castleford. Disappointed Castleford did not keep him, when he helped them so much in the relegation battle with Wakefield.
Shame he couldn't land himself a BARLA club...

250 replies and I've not read them all, so scuse me if it's been pointed out, but......
Elland Road is obviously a decision that's been taken by IMG to ensure one of their medium term goals is met.No more MM, no more loop matches, bin the SL name.
IMG don't make any decisions. They offer advice, which SL chooses to either heed or ignore.

GB winger Blake Austin signed by wests tigers! wtf? that club must be even more of a basket case than anyone thought - 5 very underwhelming and disappointing seasons in SL for that chump
Entrance Tigers, *checks notes* a club based in the Central Coast region of New South Wales who compete in the Central Coast Division Rugby League and NSWRL Presidents Cup Northern Conference.

And for that Elland Road was a great venue
For a one off game under lights with a big crowd it was fine (if very dated and cramped).
For six games in two days it is a terrible choice for a wide variety of reasons.

How about Mystery Weekend?
We could all clamber aboard coaches not knowing destination or fixtures.
Probably end up in Skegness!
If done in conjunction with my royal rumble idea from a few years ago then my interest could be revived...

Yes but no but 27 x 3 + 18 x 2 is only 117.
Johnny Rogers kicked one of the goals, as noted above.
Ah!

119 = 27 = 146.
Major Holland didn't kick all the goals.
Mind you, we're assuming that there were no drop goals.
I'm confused (which admittedly doesn't take much)...
27 x 4 = 108
18 x 2 = 36
108 + 36 = 144
No...?

How about taking magic to Old Trafford? Even though apparently its falling through to bits .
Old Trafford isn't safe to play Rugby League at.

I was checking various sites because I was trying to find the list of scores... how many tries, conversions, penalties because I would like to translate it into a total using today's points system.
Can't find any unfortunately.
"During 1913-14 Huddersfield amassed a record 119-2 match score defeating junior side Swinton Park in a Challenge Cup first round game - twenty-seven tries were scored, seven of them by Rosenfeld, whilst Major Holland landed eighteen goals." - CLICKY
Which would make it 144-2 in new money...

Leigh beat York 100-4 in 2022, but can't think of any to beat the score in your first post.
2001 was a vintage year for these kind of scores (hammerings but not nillings) for York. We lost...
90-6 Widnes (A)
12-84 Leigh (H)
78-8 Chorley (A)
6-70 Oldham (H)
82-4 Doncaster (A)
92-2 Fev (A)
11-66 Widnes (H)
84-1 Leigh (A)
There were a few nillings too...

This is a more interesting subject.
The highest scoring draw is still Leeds 46 Sheffield 46 as far as I know.
Fev v Sheffield 2016ish finished 60-40 or something mad like that...
