  1. Appreciate the thought and donation on behald of Rob OR. Bump is the right word. If anybody can give me the name of the caricature man I will attend to it myself. Rob sends his regards and thanks.
  2. Hold on Ovo, the club have a good dentist. No! 'V' for victory goes the other way up Just another stitch and I will be ready for Presentation Night Stephanie never has this trouble when she is sewing They said taking snuff was easy.
  3. Ovo and out. Escape artist. I now have some pull in this organisation Harry Houdini was a relative. Can't help at the moment I am tied up. Up to my neck in it.
  4. I was told this was a job. with no strings attached. But I managed to get my teeth into it
  5. Yes- AT LAST that's me in the second row, SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS What do you mean was I in A Sporting Life? God that Nat Sav's gone wrong again I should be at Widnes. At last a contract for next season. But it looks like I have eyes on .a new position
  6. I hope nobody can tell by looking at me that I have been playing cross code.
  7. Of course! You only get this at Morrisons. A full pack as well.
  8. Listening to DP this afternoon I totally agree Terry and Dave. The coaching and management is not hit and miss but hard work and very comprehensive in its procedures. The success has been founded and good planning, expertise, hard work and dedication. For luck read foresight.
  9. That's Barrow v Sheffield then. That will be a cracker. Sheffield with those two centres can never be wrtten off. I somehow feel in my bones we will be meeting them again this season.
  10. That should have been Kenny Greatorex of course, mixing my sporting life up with my theatre life.
  11. We had them in the old days. I remember a hundred yards race for players and supporters, slightrly slanted to make sure you had time to pull up. Boxing tournaments in which the Army was involved. Stalls and brass bands. The last one of the races was Bobby Greatorex giving an old timer 20yards start in sprint contest. Next we were invoved in a five mile run that went out of the stadium and round the fields and back to the stadium. You had to pay to enter of course. I remember Bob Ashby running that as he beat me and I thought I was fit. HGappy days, please bring them back, the more the merrier.
  12. Totally agree with all the sentiments. However one thing is clear we need more events like this to generate income to keep the club on the up and up. The cheapest most productive income would come from businesses involvement in a golf cpmpetition. We ran this sort of event at Pontefract under the auspices of Steve Evans (late Chairman) with me doing the admin. It could generate ,net, around 5K a tournament. We need ideas and someone to put them in practice (I'm willing). The money we raised earlier this year was for the club's charity. There is no reason why the club couldn't run their own event. Any other ideas. I spoke to Mark Campbell earlier today and he was open to suggestions.
  13. I'll try to be well oiled for your appearance and performance Bob.
  14. Agreed Maureen. Also so far back couldn't see the sceen for heads. But obviously a hell of hard work done.
  15. You're not the only one OR. Somebody else replied in the same context last night. To make it easier. Supposing you sign a new coach and three new players their contracts come to over 100K. That goes ionto your turnover. You will be looking for a return on your investment by the players and the coach producing results. They don't so the crowds stay the same. No increase in income. So you have increased turnover without it having a beneficial effect. In fact it has the reverse effect as you are spending more money for the same income. Turnover up, income down.
  16. How about, Grinder, 2468 Then they will know who we appreciate. Col.
  17. Funnily enough I was about to show the same statistic along with the fact that another cup winner (Hunslet) had 8 ex Rovers players in their 17. But the Warrington defence today was awesome.
  18. Any prersentation on yours or was that missing also.
  19. Saw Rob today and he was over the moon about the comments made. He was embarrassed about a collection as he says he is only doing his job. I would like to commemorate this season and therefore if a collection is not on then could somebody organise a caricature of Rob for me and I will pay for it. Any money received will be a contrbution to said caricature. It is typical of Rob that he is modest about his year and I respect his wishes. The signed ball is still for auction if anybody wants it. No sweat if nobody does. Cheers Col.
  20. Who has been talking? I thought my little cotton socks were a secret! Keep up the good work, Col.
