We did and do rely on the outlying areas for extra bodies. In the old days we had trains from Tanshelf and buses from Pontefract and Knottingley. Suprisingly we had a good number from Sharlston and quite a few from Ackworth and Normanton We need to revive the supporters interest in those quarters. I also went round the local Featherstone clubs on match days. There were quite a few ex Rovers fans there. When asked why they didn't go to the game the reply was almost the same each time. The beer was too dear and they could watch sport on the tele in the pub without paying out

I am sorry to report that Terry Headland has passed away at the age of 64. I knew him for a long time as a business aquaintance. He was always supportive of the Rovers and every programme over a number of years had an advert for Headland Electrices in it. RIP.

But who said he was? I made a point about the circumstances as I saw it and was accused of calling him a liar. Nobody to my mind has done that. The hysteria came from another quarter demanding I spoke to him face to face which I am happy to do.
