  1. Hi all you Rovers fans,

This Friday sees the induction of 3 further legends into the Hall of Fame in the shape of Jackie Fennell, Les Tonks and Keith Bell.

I will be hosting the event on Friday and have been looking into the careers of the 3 players. Information has not been that easy to come by so I thought i'd post on here and ask the Rovers fans to recollect their fondest memories of these players.

Any stories and memories of career highlights would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help and I hope you can make it to the event. It should be a good night with plenty of entertainment and a 3 course meal for just

  3. I refer you to my answer above and respect your feelings about the subject, but perhaps sometimes things do go at a tangent, but the relevence to teh initial heading is negligible. As for Big Brother, NO I believe in free speech, I didn't close , lock or move the thread, I just asked for people to start another thread debating that particular subject, I ahve no objections at all to a debate on a differing subject.

Seems to me Bob that it is not about moderation but excess. Otherwise neither club would be in trouble.

  4. I think it's all of those things in various order. Just look at our attendance last season. We need to break the 2000 mark before we can begin to progress much further. Players want more money, the club is more expensive to run and you and I don't want to pay any more for our tickets!

Super League has failed to attract the numbers it was hoped and the quality of the Championship league has improved tremendously. The difference between them and us is getting closer yet we cannot get into the Super league by a natuaral progression as we should be able to. As one championship player put it me 'whats the point of it all if we only get a medal at the of the season'. The game is too 'local' it needs to expand to other regions of the country but that costs time and money. Otherwise theres no problems!

It is all down to cash flow. Money in has to be more than money out. Businessmen seem to lose their minds when they join sport. Remember PROFIT is not money. All the clubs mentioned are just living on something good happening instead of working within their means.
