Manu Ma'u signs for..
HKR AWAY DAYS replied to Old Frightful's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Now I don't know the ins and outs of how it all works but I am led to believe sportspeople who play 3 years professional in France in their respective sport are in some way entitled to a pension. So don't be surprised to see him do 2 years then sign for another French side. I'm sure someone will know more than me on it, like. -

I love a story with a happy ending -
It is very much intrigue and to see how they're getting on. I'll be away for about a year so plenty of time to see what the go is

I'm not too sure. They are teaching young kids the basics and getting them interested. I do have a contact. Was considering taking them a Rovers ball down, something like that.

RL merch spotted in unexpected places

In 2019 I hired a car and drove around Fiji. Stopping off in a small place called Tavua for a coffee I walked down the main street and a local crossed the road in a Hull shirt. I was astonished. A couple of days later I dropped a kid off in Nadi town centre and got stuck in traffic right next to a local sat on a wall wearing a Cas shirt. And then Marika Koroibete turned up to speak to his cousin, who I just happened to have been drinking with at the hostel. It was a surreal 5 days... -
I do know that RL exists in Cambodia. I'm going to pop across there in the next 3 or 4 months and check it out, all being well.

Hull KR sack Tony Smith

Literally, my only reaction to this is 'OK...' -
Really good start. Quick-fire try and looked in a good place. Then King and Hall go off early and Litten and Lewis pick up knocks. We had to reshuffle and the players who came on to replace injuries are squad/rotational types. Always difficult to stop a good side like Huddersfield when that happens. I turned round to my mate and said, why do we always seem to get injuries in the key positions? Literally turn back to look at pitch and Lewis was down with a leg injury. One of them 'couldn't make it up' situations. Can't fault the effort (for the most part) but just don't have the quality to stay in them type of games when changes are needed.

It is social media geeks who post all that stuff. Obviously just trying to sell the game. Always see stuff like 'Sunday prep' and pictures of players training on Instagram. Good for the kids as that sort of terminology is widely used amongst the younger lot but it isn't for me. I'm 34 and hit that miserable point in life already, obviously

I disagree. I thought he had a good game, especially first half. Sending Welsby for 10 was the right call and one he could easily have just given a penalty for. We tried to slow your rapid attack down by spoiling at the play the ball and he gave multiple six again calls; he knew exactly what we were up to and responded appropriately. We gave away 3 six agains in 30 seconds and rightfully binned Parcell. When Parcell was down getting treatment the shot clock ran out and we hadn't packed the scrum, so he correctly penalised us there too. A lot of our lot thought it was wrong but he was obviously told Parcell was fit to continue so another player had to step in and they didn't. The decision to call a forward pass for one of our tries was arguably harsh as we were in the game and were the better side for good periods of second half, so that was a big call. There wasn't much I could criticise him for from our end. Was a very good, entertaining game.

He's not going anywhere. I don't think his wife would let him haha. -

James Bentley at the RFL Disciplinary

Spends more time at disciplinary hearings than I do at pub... -
We've had a few bits and pieces of good news this week so hopefully that all gives us a boost. One or two players are back so I hope we can 'stay in the arm wrestle' as they say, and give ourselves a chance. Hoping to meet the Catalans of old who could buy an away win but don't expect us to come away with anything.
