  1. The RFL have confirmed that the NRC game against Rochdale Hornets will be played this Tuesday Feb 23rd. Kick off 8 p.m.

  4. Especially when the text is copied from the front page of the web site.
  5. Rovers (Featherstone variety) 32 Hull KR 24 Excellent value with good rugby from both sides. M.o.m. for me was Jesse Joe Parker, scored one and made two others where his pass out of the tackle landed to players who only had to step over the line to score. One bone cruncher from Lasen on the opposition number 12 (who to his credit simply shrugged it off).

  7. Lost 16-28 Steph. Good performance. Outscored 5 tries to 4 with Lasen Murabe getting a hat trick. I thought Zak Hardaker was m.o.m. but I suppose three tries gives it to Lasen.
  8. FRIENDLY RESERVES' FIXTURE FEATHERSTONE ROVERS v WAKEFIELD WILDCATS WEDNESDAY 10th FEBRUARY K.O. 7.30PM ADULT

  10. An interesting thing that according to google maps it would take twice as long for a fan who supported Celtic Crusaders last year to get to the game than a Rhinos fan. We sometimes forget that in all the politics and arguing about quotas the supporters too often get forgotten.
  11. Waine Pryce was at the game last Sunday with his family. He has no club at the moment.
  12. Believe me it's not modesty to say I'm a poor substitute. I must admit it wasn't as onerous as I expected but I don't think I'll give up the day job just yet. At least with a written match report I can upload a corrected version when I realise how wrong I've got it.
  13. I think Ian Clayton might be out of our price range now.
  14. No competiton Martin. I don't know how you do it so well. Mind you it didn't help having two number 3s, 4s and 12s. Thankfully Larsen was wearing a scrum hat or I might have mistaken him for Sam with them wearing the same number. Mistakes a plenty and I even managed to award the final try to Kyle instead of Ian!!!!

  16. One statistic you missed Mark which I think is important. The starting 13 only have 4 players who didn't feature last year. Lots of newcomers but also a lot of faith in the heart of last years team.
  17. Quite agree Robin. A very good display. With the number of subs, the period you talk about in the second half was nearly Rovers 3rd team. I'm really looking forward to U21/Reserve Grade/A team (whichever they decide to call it this year) fixtures this year.
  18. As far as I know it will be updated using a database management system like Joomla or something similar.
  19. Sorry. My fault but RL have been promising a new site since November and I have been loath to spend a lot of time on something that was going to disappear any day.
  20. I saw the best and the worst of Steve at The Boulevard during the last season before SL. I remember him standing in the tackle for what seemed an age holding the ball aloft waiting in vain for a supporting player. In the same game he crossed under the sticks only to drop the ball as he tried to place it one handed. A very expensive dropped ball as it cost us points at the end of the season. Despite all this a player I enjoyed watching and a top class prop.
  21. By god, I love your wit OR and remember some classics (I still have a copy of your poem about getting old), but this must be your best post ever. Brilliant and so true.
  22. I understand that Jessie Joe has already experimented with topless training. (in nearly sub zero temperatures)
  23. At his best Tommy was immense and to be honest should slaughter teams at this level. Why he dropped so far below this high standard on too many occasions is one of the great unknowns. This was not just last season but the previous season as well so it is nothing to do with the coaching system. If Tommy can find a way of producing a consistent performance then watch out.
  24. There's been many comments on here about the Welsh experiment and the move of Crusaders to Wrexham. Although totally against the different rules that were applied to Celtic when they joined the league I always found their fans friendly and very keen to see RL succeed in that part of the country. Interesting that now the loyal Bridgend and South Wales fans have been 'Sold down the Swanee' (or is that the Clywedog), it's Ian Golden who is once again trying to raise funds and sponsors for the new South Wales Scorpions. Once again I would pray for a 'level playing field' but find it difficult not to support any fan who is willing to put time and effort into a RL team, wherever they play.
