I still think you're missing the point. Yes, clubs do have PDRL and LDRL teams - Hull FC LDRL played Sheffield last year, for instance - but if we relied on interclub games, there wouldn't be much PDRL or LDRL played.
-
I don't think it's about being rich or having a big profile. It's about knowing how to get funding.
-
Many of the more progressive clubs have set up charities to carry out community work. Maybe their dads actually are bigger. In a metaphorical sense.
-
Whilst there are LDRL teams, playing other clubs' LDRL teams, imho, it's fine if LDRL players just play amongst themselves, which they can do on a much more regular basis.
-
Sure - and there are very few rules. If somebody wants to drift outside the touchline before scoring a try, that's fine.
-
There are a fair few PDRL and LDRL teams around. What they do depends very much on the needs of the participants.

It's not just about bringing Diggerland to Batley though, is it? Did you not read my post? -

I'm guessing millions, though Tommy seems to think it's plausible. -

As Starbug says, y ou could move 87500 cubic metres of muck from one end to the other. Then you'd be left with a fives court at one end with no line of sight, so you'd need to drop the terraces at the top end. That'd need modifications to the stand roof, possibly the club at that end and the stands at the sides. At the botom end you're left with a "table" with the spectators peering onto it at boot height, so you'd need to build up those terraces. It'd be cheaper to knock the whole thing down and start again. -

Actually, I've been too kind to you, Tommy. The OP asks what it would cost. We haven't established what work needs to be done yet. So I'm asking you again - how would you achieve that flat pitch ? -

What's your plan for taking out an eleven foot deep wedge of muck ? It sounds like a major engineering operation to me -

That would rule out a lot of soccer pitches being used and I would suggest to you that that would be the main reason why that's not going to happen any time soon. But surely, if you're struggling to see the far end of a pitch, you need the pitch to be shorter, not longer. Either that, or opera glasses. -

Who told you that? -
Well, say 50 years.
-
Lots of clubs have done free admission to kids over the years. And still are. It's not particularly innovative, though it is to be applauded.
-
But do you need to know that at your first game ? No. I don't recall having to take a refereeing exam before I went to my first game. I still enjoyed myself.

Yes, it's called "home advantaģe". -
50 years would take us back to 1972. Who are you thinking of ?

If he did research it, what would he find? Or is it a secret?
