Ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand. Sometimes it is justified by non attending ticket holders (even if they are comps), sometimes it is just a number plucked out of the air. It has been linked to the central funding for years and the announced figure taken at face value, despite an office further down the corridor holding the correct figures via the SGSA.

Tackled behind the goal line.

I’d have said the huge increase in lofted kicks to the corner is very much a consequence of seven tackle sets. -

Spot on. -
I’m fairly sure the Championship still had match commissioners for those handful of games in 2020 but time keepers may well have gone by then.

First season was 2022. EDIT Might have been 2021 as Leigh were in Super League that season so may have come in earlier before I was aware of it. Presumably an original casualty of Covid which then became a convenient excuse. Beat me to it

I believe there has been two occasions this season in WSL where the officials (and teams) haven’t known whether or not it was golden point and had to ring the RFL from the pitch to double check!

The ground they’ve used at Blagnac does have a swimming pool, actually! Situated at one end just as at Perpignan. It had just the two touchline stands initially with the away end opening not long afterwards (can’t remember whether it was open in time for the Regal Trophy Final). The two-tiered end wasn’t built until the ground had been open for four years.

Won’t be many grounds where (if it’s timed right) you can watch a game of amateur RL with a pint on the same complex as you can watch a Super League game. Not entirely sure what else can necessarily be offered, mind, especially as York don’t have the mad outdoor water slides any more.

Part of the conditions for the extra 888 are that the square footage of the concourse is increased by bringing up the shutters by the side of the turnstiles (bet you’ve never noticed them until you inevitably look tomorrow!) and utilising the quadrants in the corners. There has previously been a bottle bar to alleviate the queues but of course nobody can get down to it! Non attending season tickets will knock a few off the actual numbers in there though.

Full capacity of North is 3,768 but that has only ever been used for the infamous Cas v Widnes semi final. 2,886 ordinarily.

The difference is 218 (2,176 less 10%) so neither here nor there considering how many seats are lost for the stage (280 in East blocks A-C versus 832 if the stage wasn’t there). The numbers banded about would also suggest that the North Stand hasn’t gone to the full capacity (which has literally only happened once). Ordinarily, with everything else sold, in theory the application would be made but it is dependent on being able to expand the concourse in to the corners between the North and East/West but with so much activity in the north-west corner especially then it wouldn’t be a surprise if it wouldn’t be approved anyway. Incredible sales all the same. Should look great on telly.

About 11 times the number of clubs that France can realistically support at the moment, sadly.

In fairness it’s worth pointing out that the MPG was all-pay and the venue only confirmed at a week’s notice so a tougher sell compared to a season ticket game, even with the importance riding on it.

They’re on Viaplay (or at least were a season or two ago). I go to the odd Manchester Storm game at Altrincham but I must admit it’s a complete shadow thinking back to the five figure crowds at the arena 25 years ago (wow, I feel old now) -

Steelers were formed in 1991 so not a million miles behind Eagles but they have long had a sizeable and dedicated following. It probably helps not having 276 different home venues in that time.
