There is hardly anyone who lives there.
The South Island population is 97% white. It is full of farmers. There is a small community of white redneck types who follow League, but the place is tailor made for union community clubs based around small farming towns.
The idea of an NRL team there is simply ludicrous.
It would be like putting a Super League team in Gloucester.
There's a big fanbase for the game in Christchurch. If there is to be another team in NZ that is where it should be.
Iv'e attended internationals in CH-Ch and they have always been well attended. If the footy is of a decent standard the support is there.

The above game( Glenora v Point Chevalier) is on Skye this coming Saturday at 3-10pm NZ time. Watched one of the semi last Saturday between Glenora v Otahuhu and it was a cracker.

Can't see the Aussies coming over for the WC in France. They are wrapped up with SO and nothing else matters.
As for Tonga etc coming over their teams are all drawn from the NRL so no chance of those being released.

Same kind of thinking that finished Toronto. Is it any wonder the sport is struggling.

Very good win for the Dogs. York improved their play once they got rid of Pauli but I think the score didn't do the Dogs justice. Have yesterdays points been added to the league standings? Although a game in hand I thought we would have been third on the table.

Great result for the Dogs, enjoyed the game. York picked up the game after Pauli went off.

Just going by the score in the last two games Whitehaven and Sheffield, which both were really close. Now a team that's supposed to be going places should easily have put both of them away.
It's been a good season for the Dogs, but at times it's like they are two different teams.

Should be on Live Sports Streams so will be up early for this. Both Dogs and York are struggling at the moment so could go anyway. Be great if we come away with a win.

Cruising? It wasn't what Wakefield were doing it was the the amount of simple errors Toulouse made and yes they made them pay. Once Toulouse got there act together it was over, their defence improved and they scored some great tries.

For me that game had everything and well worth staying up for. The handling errors by Toulouse in the fh should have ensured a Wakefield win but they fell apart in the sh. Having guys in the bin didn't help their cause but I think the result would still have been a Toulouse win.

I was always a big fan of the WP so hope this comp works out alright. Things may have been much better if they had been treated equally at the begining.

2025 is in France and I doubt the Australians will agree to come up here in consecutive years so a tour to Australia/NZ will possibly be on the cards for 2023 or 2024, hopefully a 4 nations.
The way the Aussie public view tours would be a financial disaster, Look at the two games last Sat, not many Aussies in that crowd.

It went late last night. I was reading page one, when I clicked on page two it was gone. Maybe someone posted something abusive.

Think the Dogs may struggle a bit after the mauling last Monday.

I watched the game this morning, it wasn't the skill factor that beat the Dogs, but the weight disadvantage and playing against the slope in the first half. By halftime they were stuffed and out of the game.
If Featherstone come up with a big set of forwards they won't have any problems.

When I arrived at Ericson Stadium 10 mins before ko, there was a big queue waiting to get in, they only had one ticket booth open. They were still coming into the game 25mins after the start but lots just went home.
