Correct they are
All well and good...and I agree with you....
But who do we replace them with?
We have no one!

Nothing said about your favourite Kear or Dave gibbons both shouldn’t wear our shirt again
Both really bad tonight.
But isn't Mr. Gibbons father one of the assistants?....

Listless, leaderless. Poor all round. First time since Adam were a lad I've left a game early. If the BoD and coaching staff are still convinced that we're strong enough and deep enough not to require loanees they're watching a different team to many around me. Great, we put up a show against Cas! That's gone and we're fighting for a place at the top table again. As we are just now we're sitting firmly in the servants' quarters. Dewsbury clattered us, defended superbly but didn't really find themselves with too much to defend in all honesty and put together better attacking moves than us.
I'd agree in general terms with this.
We didn't trouble their line at all,and looked listless all evening....I hope we look to get some big boys in the pack either on loan or DR because if not We're in for a long hard unsuccessful season....sorry but that's the reality already.

Well, the first game I've attended this year due to various reasons and it is woeful..... absolutely woeful.
We look extremely poor in all areas.
Some fellas out of their depth here I'm afraid.
Well done Dewsbury, thoroughly deserved their lead, and probable win.
Think we need a pretty harsh shake up before next week.

It was an excellent turn out last night, nice to see there is still a Tomlinson connection through his son Sheridan who is a jockey and moving onto Ascot to a training centre, he is hoping to get to watch a few Batley games.
I was unable to attend last night Roger,as I was working....

don't worry.
no Intention of that.
I've been told I have a rather callous and indifferent attitude to life....maybe i'm of a generation who are just fed up of the general snowflakes who can't 'deal' with 'life' and everything that 'does their head in'....
Good job me and my mates didn't feel like that after P company.
but I digress.
my humour isn't for everyone and I apologise for de-railing the thread.

I really really wish I could muster some enthusiasm for the fixture this year, but I think a combination of total apathy from the club regarding signings/re-signings and knowing the fact that we are most certainly going to struggle by looking at the team (and we all know it)....it reminds me so much of the year after we lost the grand final to Sheffield and the mass exodus......scratching around for players.
The game as a whole is getting rather superleague obsessed...then the new rules surrounding the tackle area etc....its hard to try and get that excitement going this year....I'm really not bothered anymore.
First time I'll have missed the boxing day/xmas fixture since the mid eighties or something like that.

Whatever....but one time, when we DON'T play 'pound for pound' above teams spending double and find ourselves down among the dead men, what then? You all think I'm the only dissenter out of a regular 800 attendees? We've had a good run, been lucky, but the end of last season showed that you can't run on shoestring budget and squad size even though the coach had asked to bring in dome strength. Why is it so wrong to ask questions without getting the one stock response?
Probably because ts the same stock questions.
and who exactly are the "dead men"?......

Phil dog,are you sure you're not really Eric Olthwaite?
The precipitation of recent days must have you positively quivering with excitement.............

Never lived up nor had a brother nor had a lass up Arncliffe, so where does that leave your assumptions!! As I said, Rams fans knew about this over a fortnight ago, it's on here somewhere!! I also suggested it before, so there, la la lala la! Good signing which also leads to the bad news that we'll quite possibly face Aiden McGowan playing for somebody else! Winger and a couple of big young forwards next.
I rest my case.........
but joking (lost on some people) aside, this could be an excellent signing.
it is frustrating when other clubs are announcing new signings and re-signings with regularity, and it does keep the fans interested and keen, but I can see the flip side to it as well.
It has been a long, hard, stressful season and the club's officials just need to get away and have nothing to do with Batley Rugby club and recharge the batteries.
us plebeians have to remember it's once a week thing to most of us,we can whinge and gripe, then go to work or take the ferret for a manicure or do whatever we do to wind down, but for the club officials it's a 6-7 day a week thing for all the season.
give them a break eh?

we weren't far off today.
we just have no clue at all how to attack near the line,no idea really, and with no information as to why Woods is not playing (injury i presume) if we don't sign (or get back) a good half back,we will not win many matches.
even this early in the season,if we're playing a winger at scrumhalf,it isn't rocket science to know what we need.
also same players giving same old penalties away.....
makes next match a must win or I really really fear for our future in this league......
